Thus. Killing and the other seven actions of body and speech are karma because of their nature of being done, and they are also paths of karma because the thought that arises from intention relies on them. Second, the explanation of the path of virtuous karma: When the ten non-virtues mentioned above are near their base, the mental event of thinking that abandons them is definitely said to be the ten paths of virtuous karma. Furthermore, there are two types of karma: karma of thought and karma of action. The first is the thought that arises from all actions of body and speech. The second is the virtuous or non-virtuous actions of body and speech. As it is also said: Karma gives rise to various things in the world, It is the sentient being and what is done by it, Thought is the karma of the mind, It gives rise to the karma of body and speech. Thus it is said. Second, in explaining the differences between them, the first of the six is the explanation of karma that is definitely experienced: Doing non-virtue with strong afflictions, doing virtue with great faith, and without these, also benefiting or harming the field of merit such as abiding in the Three Jewels and special samadhi, and constantly practicing that virtuous or non-virtuous karma, and whatever karma of killing parents, the ripening of these will definitely be experienced. As it is also said: Afflictions are strong and intense, The field of merit and constant practice, Whatever is done and killing parents, All of these are definitely experienced. Thus it is said. Among these, there are also three types: experiencing after birth, experiencing in other instances, and experiencing in this life. The first is experiencing the ripening in the next life after doing that karma, such as the five boundless sins. The second is experiencing the ripening from the second life onwards. The third is experiencing the ripening at the very time of doing the karma. In wars and so on, where there is one purpose, and in hunting and so on, where many people kill one to be killed, and in stealing the wealth of others and so on, because the purpose of achieving one specific goal is the same, all are like those who kill, possessing the actual nature of the path of karma. Also, for the sake of life, if there is a definite intention not to kill, then even if one goes among many people and others commit killing and so on, there is no fault. Because there is no same purpose. High

My, the karma that has fruition, also arises from the difference in field and intention. The difference in intention is like the king's dwarf who, considering his own suffering, spared the bull from having its testicles removed, thus preserving the bull's sexual organs. The difference in field is: for those who enter into cessation, and those who arise from loving-kindness concentration, non-affliction concentration, the path of seeing, and the fruit of an Arhat, giving help or causing harm, the karmic results will ripen immediately. Arising from cessation is like arising from peaceful Nirvana, arising from the most supreme abode; arising from loving-kindness and non-affliction is beneficial to limitless beings, and is the superior intention of non-affliction; arising from the path of seeing is obtaining a new transformation; arising from the fruit of an Arhat is also because all that is to be abandoned through cultivation has been abandoned, and a new transformation is obtained. Second, in which realm and ground does it exist: the ten virtuous paths of action are complete in the desire realm and the form realm, but in the formless realm, there are only the three paths of mental action, and there are no actions of body and speech, because there is no form body. In the upper realms, there is no non-virtue. In hell, there is idle talk such as wailing, and harsh words such as mutual scolding, and the three objects of hatred actually exist, because one does not die until the karma is exhausted, so there is no killing, and because there is no possession, there is no taking what is not given. Because one is tormented by continuous suffering, there is no sexual misconduct, because there is no need, there is no lying, because one is always separated, there is no divisive speech, because there is nothing to desire, there is no covetousness, and because the karmic result has manifested, there is no wrong view. In the Asuras, because there is singing with an unpleasant afflicted mind, there is idle talk, but there is nothing else, because it is not a sinful thought, so there are no harsh words, divisive speech, harmful intent, wrong view, etc. Because life is definite, there is no killing, and because there is no possession of wealth and women, there is no sexual misconduct and covetousness. In other desire realms, there are all ten non-virtuous actions. Gods do not kill gods, but they kill other beings. Third, the karma of projecting and completing: there are two types of karma, projecting karma and completing karma. The first is: gods and humans...
