This is the manifest accumulation of merit, and the manifest accumulation of non-merit, and the manifest accumulation of the immovable. Thus it is said. Without delusion, those actions do not arise, because ignorance ceases, actions cease, thus it is said. Thus, only the unwise children think that actions and so forth truly arise from ignorance, and they manifestly cling to them. However, those wise ones who see the truth of reality, with the sun of wisdom dispelling the thick darkness of ignorance, when they understand that actions arise from the condition of ignorance, they also understand that all actions are without inherent existence and are emptiness, therefore they abandon ignorance and do not take up actions, therefore they are liberated from samsara. Second, the refutation of the argument that if there is no inherent existence, then it is contradictory to exist conventionally: If things do not exist in that nature, then in convention also, like the child of a barren woman. They become non-existent, therefore, do they exist by their own nature? If these things, such as form, do not exist in reality, then like the child of a barren woman, they should also not exist conventionally. If they exist conventionally, then those such as form should exist by their own nature? To this it should be said: Those that are the objects of those with cataracts, etc., such as hair-nets, etc., because they are unborn, for a while, they themselves should be questioned, and afterwards, they are connected with the dimness of ignorance. Those that are the objects of the minds of those who have not been harmed by cataracts, etc., such as hair-nets, etc., are the same as the unborn child of a barren woman. Why do you see non-existent hair-nets, etc., and not the child of a barren woman, etc.? For a while, those with cataracts themselves should be questioned. Afterwards, why do you see the unborn nature of form, etc., and not the child of a barren woman? It is necessary to rebuke and examine those whose eyes of wisdom are bound and obscured by the dimness of ignorance. However, we should not be rebuked and examined, for we yogis see things in this way, and whatever the wisdom of the yogis

Those who wish to attain it should also particularly believe in the suchness of the nature of all phenomena as has been said. This is engaging in explaining the selflessness of things based on scripture, not based on one's own knowledge, because we are those whose eyes of wisdom are obscured by the dimness of ignorance. In short, although they are the same in being unborn, just as those with blurred vision see strands of hair, etc., while the child of a barren woman, etc., do not appear. Although they are the same in being without inherent existence, there is no contradiction in the fact that forms, etc., and the child of a barren woman, etc., become or do not become objects of the minds of children. Let the refutation and examination of those with blurred vision be put aside for now. For the time being, this should be refuted and examined more thoroughly by you yourself. It is said: If dreams, cities of gandharvas, etc., water of mirages, and illusory images, etc., are seen as unborn, although they are the same as non-existent, how it becomes that way for you is unreasonable. Even you yourself sometimes see dreams and cities of gandharvas, etc., which are of the nature of being unborn, although they are the same as not actually existing, how is it that you see dreams, etc., but do not see the child of a barren woman, etc.? Please refute and examine yourself, and later we will also be refuted and examined. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that if forms, etc., are without inherent existence, they are the same as the child of a barren woman, whether existent or non-existent. Furthermore: How is it that this is unborn, but why is it not, like the child of a barren woman, an object of sight in the world? Therefore, this statement is uncertain. As it is said: In the sutra: Beings are said to be like dreams. There is no distinction there. In dreams there are no things. Those with perverse minds are attached to appearances. How does a city of gandharvas appear, yet the city is not in the ten directions, nor is it elsewhere. The city is merely established by name. Thus the Sugata sees this being. Those with the perception of water see a mirage, but there is no water. Thus, it is disturbed by complete conceptualization. They perceive suffering in what is not suffering. How do reflections of non-inherent existence appear in a perfectly pure mirror?
