There is no difference in the perfection of going beyond. The perfection of wisdom with appearance is different in the way of understanding the pervasiveness of the realm of phenomena. These two perfections of wisdom should also be understood as the way of being the main and the secondary. Secondly, in determining the emptiness of the object, there are three things: what is said based on what, what is said on what object, and what dharma is said. The first is: Here it is said that seeing the very nature of this condition, the one who dwells in wisdom will attain cessation. What is the suchness of dependent arising that is spoken of? How does the Bodhisattva see it? Its own nature is not the object of those like us whose eyes of wisdom are covered by the thick fog of ignorance, but those who have removed the fog of ignorance with the eye medicine of emptiness without error, and who have the eyes of wisdom that see the suchness as it is, are the objects of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Therefore, one should ask them. If it is said in the Perfection of Wisdom and so on, is it not said how the Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom sees the nature of dependent arising? Shouldn't it be explained based on the scriptures? We cannot independently rely on the scriptures to show that very nature, because it is difficult to determine the intention of the scriptures. Although it is said independently, we can also determine the intention of the scriptures by relying on the oral instructions of the person who has become a valid person and who has explained the intention of the scriptures without error. Therefore: How does he understand the most profound Dharma? Because it is through scripture and other reasoning, Therefore, in the treatises of the noble Nagarjuna, it should be said according to the way it abides. How does the Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom understand the most profound Dharma of dependent arising? It must be determined by the scriptures of the Sugata and other reasonings. Therefore, how does he see the nature of dependent arising? Like that of the noble Nagarjuna.

Having known the scriptures without error, in the treatises of Madhyamaka, he clearly explained the suchness of all dharmas as they are, through reasoning and scripture. Therefore, I shall also speak as it is, having clarified the suchness of dharmas by scripture and reasoning from the treatises of the noble Nagarjuna, and the manner in which they abide. If asked: How is it known that the noble Nagarjuna certainly has the unerring intention of the scriptures? The answer: It is known from the scriptures. As it is said in the *Lankavatara Sutra*: "In the southern country of Vidarbha, there will be a monk named Shri, who will be called Naga, who will destroy the sides of existence and non-existence. In the world, he will show my unsurpassed Mahayana, attain the Joyful Ground, and go to Sukhavati." Also, as it is said in the *Mahamegha Sutra*: "Ananda, this Licchavi youth named Sarvasattvapriyadarshana, four hundred years after my nirvana, will become a monk named Naga, widely propagate my teachings, and eventually in the world called Pure Light, will become the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Jnana-utpatti-prabha Buddha." Therefore, it is proven that this (Nagarjuna) certainly has unerring scriptures. Secondly, regarding to whom it should be explained, there are two parts: examining the vessel of the listener, and advising them to listen. The first is: This treatise, which explains the unerring dependent origination, should only be taught to those who have planted the seed of emptiness in their minds through the power of past habituation, and not to others. Because even if they hear about emptiness, they will misunderstand it and become endowed with great meaninglessness. For example, sometimes they will abandon emptiness because they do not believe in it, and thus fall into lower realms. Sometimes they will grasp the meaning of emptiness as non-existence, and thus slander all things, giving rise to wrong views. Therefore, the teacher should especially recognize the differences in their faith, and then explain the view of emptiness to the listeners. Again, how should one determine that it is appropriate to teach emptiness to this person? This

If one can know whether someone is capable of hearing about emptiness, it can definitely be determined from external signs. For example: Even ordinary individuals, upon hearing about emptiness, repeatedly experience joy in their hearts. Tears well up from joy, filling their eyes, and the hairs on their body stand on end. Such a person possesses the seed of perfect enlightenment. Such a person is a vessel capable of receiving the teachings on emptiness. Therefore, the ultimate truth should be taught to them. Why? Because they will develop the qualities that follow from it. Such a listener will not only avoid the faults that arise from wrongly entering into emptiness, but will also develop all the qualities that follow from the view of emptiness. How does this happen? They will feel that hearing about emptiness is like finding a treasure. In order to prevent the view of emptiness from declining, they will constantly uphold the precepts. They will give generously and cultivate compassion. They will practice patience and dedicate their merit to enlightenment, for the sake of liberating beings. They will respect bodhisattvas. They will think: If I fall into the lower realms due to impure precepts, then the view of emptiness will be interrupted. Therefore, they will constantly uphold the precepts correctly. Even if I am reborn in the higher realms through precepts, if I become poor, I will be busy searching for food, clothing, and other necessities of life, and hearing about emptiness will be interrupted. Therefore, they will practice generosity. The view of emptiness that is embraced by compassion leads to Buddhahood, not anything else. Therefore, they will cultivate compassion. Anger leads to the lower realms and results in obtaining an ugly appearance, therefore, due to anger
