If so, then having vowed to benefit all sentient beings, this will cause one's own vow to be broken, and therefore one will be blamed by other wise people. Therefore, one should encourage sentient beings who are in the realm of practice by teaching the Dharma in a way that is appropriate, saying, "We will be blamed." Of all the Dharmas of Bodhisattvas, the one that precedes all others is compassion. Some novice Bodhisattvas do not want to express loving-kindness by teaching how to benefit other sentient beings who are afflicted by suffering and its causes, because if they were to subsequently help those helpless beggars who are afflicted by afflictions and are destitute with compassion, how could they give charity with the food and wealth accumulated through hundreds of hardships? It is simply impossible. Therefore, Bodhisattvas should first generate compassion for sentient beings. The third question is: If someone harbors hatred towards those Bodhisattvas who, out of compassion, diligently work for the benefit of sentient beings as long as samsara exists, what are the faults? For those Bodhisattvas who have entered for the benefit of all beings until they reach the state of Nirvana without remainder, thus becoming a source of merit, and those who have the power to benefit others in the world for as long as it exists, even those who remain without generating faith will be ruined because they have not accumulated merit such as generosity and respect. Then, what is there to think about those who hate with the faults of the three doors? They will be ruined and utterly ruined by hundreds of thousands of sufferings of the lower realms for immeasurable eons. The fourth question is: Therefore, one should abandon extreme hatred towards Bodhisattvas and should be extremely joyful, because they have done what is extremely difficult. What is the extremely difficult thing they have done? For the Bodhisattva who has attained forbearance, they have all five unimpaired clairvoyances in all lifetimes, and not only that, they have abandoned the unimaginable and satisfying delicious taste of the enjoyment of the Buddha's Dharma, as well as the non-elaborate samadhi and the unimaginable fruits of the two accumulations, and in order to benefit sentient beings with compassion, they even appear as inferior beings of the lower realms, such as monkeys and deer like the Ruru deer, and so on.

Having completely taken hold of the material of the body, with that form and that sound, to ripen those beings for the sake of enlightenment, this is extremely difficult for the Bodhisattvas. Therefore, having looked at those most difficult to do, one should generate supreme faith in the Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, in order to see immeasurable qualities, one should also generate faith in the Bodhisattvas, just like this, the other-benefit of manifest desire is extremely difficult to do, but also the method of being able to accomplish effortlessly, is all the causes of the arising of merit, all three doors, that is, all that is relied upon, by way of relying, in an extremely long time, the merit accumulated in countless hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas, even the Omniscient One cannot measure, what need is there to mention others? Therefore, just like the endless cycle of childish beings, the root of virtue of the Bodhisattva is endless, because they possess great compassion, because time is endless, because methods are endless, and because sentient beings are endless. Fifth, since that is the case, the Bodhisattvas are a treasure of many precious qualities, then why in the birth stories and so on, is the sound of generosity of the Bodhisattvas pleasant, but not others such as discipline? The sound of generosity, in Sanskrit, is called dāna (梵文天城体:दान,梵文罗马拟音:dāna,汉语字面意思:Giving), when explained in detail by etymology with the addition of the root letter of the word, sometimes it eliminates death, and that is also because it is in accordance with renunciation, and sometimes it clarifies the characteristics of the three kinds of giving, and sometimes it clarifies that by guarding and purifying the three doors, other existences are manifestly accomplished as desired, therefore, for the Bodhisattva, the sound of generosity is always pleasantly taught. What is the difference that the generosity of the Bodhisattvas alone is endless, but others are not? If someone thinks that the generosity given in this life will produce great fruit in the future, therefore, accepting enjoyment and giving enjoyment for the sake of profit, like a material transaction for profit, will be condemned by the noble ones. Bodhisattvas
