Because all those with desire wish to be close and enjoy, so when interacting with women, whatever coquettish gestures women make to gain favor, whether bodily or verbal, are also of the same thought. Therefore, those noble ones who have detached from desire, if they see such gestures, will only feel extreme aversion and shame, and will never think of it as happiness. Thirdly, some argue that because men are jealous of other men for the sake of women's happiness, women must have happiness. If so, then because jealousy arises from others enjoying that object, it is not necessarily a source of happiness. For some wealthy people, proud of their wealth, even become attached to very lowly places, such as toilets, and become jealous when they see others entering there. Similarly, some men who are attached to certain women also become jealous of certain men for the sake of these women, which is similar to the above situation, so one cannot say that there is happiness just because there is jealousy. If someone says that even if a woman's body is impure, it is reasonable to be attached because happiness arises from it, then, for example, when impure things are trampled underfoot, because their nature is obscured by darkness and cannot be seen, ignorance arises; and because of the harm from the foul smell, anger arises. In no case is it reasonable for desire to arise. Similarly, for a woman's impure body, because its nature is covered by external means such as decorations and cannot be understood, ignorance arises, and anger arises because of the foul smell. In no case is it reasonable for desire to arise, because its nature is impure. Thirdly, although a woman's body is indeed impure, even so, it is not considered a fault in the world, so it should not be condemned. As it is said, "Compared to others, Brahmins are pure; women are pure compared to all." If someone says this, then the reason why a woman's body is not considered a fault in the world is simply that people have not recognized its nature. If even a vessel contaminated by the impure substances that come from the body is extremely disgusting, then for a body from which impure substances constantly arise, which person with a sound mind would not condemn it? Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that a woman's body should not be condemned.

Okay. If a woman's body is clean, because men will find it clean, then all clean things like flowers, fragrances, clothes, and ornaments, once they come into contact with the body, become unclean. Therefore, what is it that, when touched, causes all clean things to ultimately point to that body? Who is the wise person who would say that body is clean? No one would say that. Secondly, if the body is not clean, one should not be proud of it, but rather because it is clean due to contact with it, then, that which is being born, initially in the mother's womb, located between the stomach and intestines, like a cesspool, and existing by relying on the essence of feces, unable to exist without it, like an unclean worm, due to the influence of ignorance, the pride that arises from thinking "I am clean" is merely a delusion. If one argues that the body is clean because one abandons the impurity of the body through bathing and so on, then, no matter what means, such as incense offerings, scattering, or bathing, one cannot cleanse and wash the inner core of the body. So, why make an effort to purify the inherently impure nature of the body? Since you strive to purify the inherently impure nature of the inner body, why not strive to remove the external impurities that arise from the body? It is also appropriate to strive to make it clean. If it is said that it is an impure nature, so it cannot be made clean, then the same is true for the inner body. If it is said that even though a woman's body is full of urine, upright ascetics do not abandon it, so it should not be abandoned, then, they do not abandon a woman full of urine because both themselves and her are equally full of urine. Just as lepers exist only among a few special people, if being full of urine is also not the same for everyone, but exists only among a few, then, just as those without leprosy abandon lepers, so too would those full of urine be abandoned by all other people, but because everyone is equally full of urine, who would abandon whom? If it is said that even though a woman's body has foul odors and other impurities, they can be eliminated by applying fragrances and so on, then, for example, a nose is cut off, a limb is damaged
