It is like this. Therefore, how can emptiness posit the Tathagata as emptiness? Since the five aggregates are empty in nature, how can the Tathagata be posited as empty in nature? Therefore, it is unreasonable to posit the Tathagata based on the five aggregates. Secondly, in explaining that the Tathagata is free from extremes, there are two parts: the main text and the revelation of the fault of clinging to extremes. The first part is: Alas! We, abandoning the doctrines of those non-Buddhists such as rice-eaters and red-eyes, who perversely teach the path to heaven and liberation, and delighting in their tenets, have taken refuge in the Blessed One, the Tathagata, who teaches the path to heaven and liberation without perversion, and we are seeking liberation. Now, like this, "Having taken it, and taking it again, all aspects are empty, how can the Tathagata be posited by emptiness, being emptiness?" etc., saying that it is without self-nature, it cuts off our hope for liberation! Therefore, arguing with you, cutting off the root of the great medicine tree of the Tathagata, is enough, isn't it? You, because you desire liberation, abandoned the liking for non-Buddhists, although you have taken refuge in the Tathagata, you cannot endure the lion's roar of no-self, which is the most profound, and is not shared with the speech of non-Buddhists, with your own particularly beloved inferior views, stirred by various evil views like snakes, you are walking from the perilous wilderness of samsara traversed by perverse people, on the very path that is in accordance with this. The Tathagata never said that there is a self and the five aggregates, as the sutra says: "O venerable Subhuti, the Buddha is like an illusion, like a dream. O venerable Subhuti, the Buddha's teachings are also like an illusion, like a dream." If we slander anyone, what fault would we commit as described in the sutra? We do not say that the Tathagata is of the nature of non-elaboration, and does not exist in any way. Furthermore, wanting to truly explain the meaning of the Tathagata's nature of non-elaboration, one should neither say it is emptiness, nor should one say it is non-emptiness.
