Those who make elaborations, those who are diminished by elaborations, all of them will not see the Tathagata. Those who, with their dull minds, elaborate on the Buddha Bhagavan, who is naturally peaceful, naturally empty, beyond all elaborations, whose nature is unborn, and who is endless because his nature does not change, by speculating on whether he is permanent or impermanent, existent or nonexistent, empty or not empty, all-knowing or not all-knowing, etc., those who elaborate in this way are diminished by their own elaborations, and the perfect qualities of the Tathagata are obscured. Therefore, all those who are like those with hallucinations will not see the Tathagata in this scripture, just as the blind do not see the sun. Therefore, the Bhagavan said: 'Those who see me in form, those who know me by sound, that person has entered a wrong path, that person will not see me. The Buddhas see the nature of reality, the guides see the body of reality, the nature of reality is not knowable, they cannot know it.' Thus he spoke. Therefore, in this examination of the Tathagata, the world of mind has been examined as being without inherent existence. Secondly, establishing that the vessel world is without inherent existence: Just as the sentient world is without inherent existence, so too is the vessel world without inherent existence. Whatever is the nature of the Tathagata, that is the nature of this world. The nature of the Tathagata is without, the nature of this being is without. As has been said, whatever is the nature of the Tathagata, which is free from all extremes, that is also the nature of this world, the vessel world of beings. Therefore, just as the Tathagata is without inherent existence, so too should the nature of this being be known as without inherent existence. How beings are without inherent existence, that is what is shown by the examination of dependent origination, etc. Therefore, in the sutra it says: 'The ever-lasting, unborn Dharma is the Tathagata. All Dharmas are also like the Tathagata. Those of childish mind grasp at signs. In the world, they practice a Dharma that does not exist. The Tathagata, the Dharma without outflows, is like an image of virtuous Dharma. Here, there is no suchness, nor is there a Tathagata.'
