English

A past result never meets with a past cause, because both are past. A past result never meets with an unarisen cause, because both do not exist due to being destroyed and unarisen, and because of different times. A past result never meets with a arisen present cause, because of different times, and because a destroyed result never exists. Just as a past result does not meet with the three times of cause, similarly, a present result does not meet with a future cause, a past cause, or a present cause, i.e., the three times. A result that has arisen, a cause that has not arisen, and the past, as well as the arisen, becoming meeting, never exists. A present result that has arisen never meets with a cause that has not arisen and a past cause, because of different times. A present result never meets with a present cause that has arisen, because cause and result do not exist simultaneously, and because it is meaningless for a result that already exists to meet with a cause. Now, if a future result also does not meet with the three times of cause, i.e., with a cause that is past, future, and presently occurring. A result that has not arisen, a cause that has arisen, the unarisen, and the past, becoming meeting, never exists. A future result that has not arisen never meets with a present cause that has arisen and a past cause, because of different times. An unarisen cause also does not meet with the future, because both do not exist. If meeting does not exist, how does a cause produce a result? When cause and result do not exist in any way of meeting, how does a cause produce a result? It does not produce, so think. If you want to avoid that fault and want cause and result to meet, even then, if meeting exists, how does a cause produce a result? If cause and result meet and exist, if they are not simultaneous, there is no meeting, how does a cause produce a result?

Because it is meaningless for the cause and effect to arise simultaneously. Eighth, if the cause is empty, how does it produce the effect? If the cause is not empty, how does it produce the effect? Does the cause that produces the effect produce the effect with emptiness or non-emptiness? How does the empty and separate cause produce the effect? Just like it is not a cause, because it is empty of the effect. How does the non-empty cause produce the effect? Because the effect already exists, like an already existing giver. Furthermore, does the effect that arises arise with emptiness or non-emptiness? The non-empty effect will not arise, and non-emptiness will not cease. Non-emptiness neither ceases nor arises. The non-empty effect is not dependently originated, but exists by its own nature. Such an effect neither arises nor ceases, because there is no change in its nature. Therefore, if you consider it to be non-empty, then the effect will become unceasing and unborn, but you do not think so. Therefore, the effect is not non-empty, because you have already admitted arising and ceasing. If the effect is empty, then there cannot be arising and ceasing, because it is said: How can emptiness arise and cease? Emptiness will also become unceasing and unborn. Here, emptiness refers to the absence of inherent existence. How can the effect of the nature of emptiness arise and cease? Just like space and other things without inherent existence, we have not seen them arise or be destroyed. Therefore, if you consider the effect to be empty, then emptiness will also become unceasing and unborn. Ninth, furthermore, if the cause produces the effect, does this cause produce it in a way that is different or the same as the effect? Neither of these two ways is reasonable, because it is never possible for the cause and effect to become one. It is never possible for the cause and effect to become different entities. How can this oath be established? The cause and effect are one.

English

If the produced and the producer become one, and if cause and effect are different, then cause and non-cause become the same. If cause and effect are one, then the produced and the producer become one, which is also unreasonable. Because father and son, eye and eye consciousness, seed and sprout, etc., would also become one. If cause and effect are different, then the effect does not depend on the cause, because the oneness and otherness of each other are distinct. For those causes and effects, otherness is also unreasonable, because the cause of the sprout—seed and non-cause—fire and charcoal, etc., are both different from the sprout. Either both are the producers of the sprout, or both are not causes, becoming the same. Tenth, if the cause produces the effect, does it produce an effect that exists by its own nature or one that does not exist by its own nature? Neither is reasonable. If the effect exists by its own nature, then what does the cause produce? If the effect does not exist by its own nature, then what does the cause produce? If the effect exists by its own nature, then what does the cause produce? Because it exists, just like a pot exists. If the effect is non-existent by its own nature, then what does the cause produce? Because it is not self-existent, like a donkey's horn. If the cause prevents the production of the effect, even so, the cause exists, and if the cause exists, the effect also exists, because there is no cause without an effect. If it is not a producer, the cause itself is not reasonable. As said above, if the cause does not produce the effect, then the cause of the cause itself is not reasonable, because the cause is determined from the production of the effect. If the cause does not exist, but the effect exists, and without a cause there is no effect, so the cause also exists. If the cause itself is not reasonable, then whose is the effect? When it does not produce, the nature of the cause does not reasonably exist, then whose is the effect? Therefore, the effect also does not exist. Second, summarizing the essentials: other
