It also refutes. For example, in the "Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning," it is said: "Nirvana is the only truth. What the Buddhas have declared, at that time, the rest is not wrong. Which wise person would not believe it?" Also, in the "Ratnavali," it is said: "In the Great Vehicle, non-arising is taught. The exhaustion of others is emptiness. Knowing exhaustion and non-arising, knowing non-arising is that each of the four truths, such as the truth of suffering, is perfected by the sixteen moments of mind called Dharma-kshanti and Dharma-jnana, thereby knowing that the aggregates do not arise. Knowing exhaustion is knowing the exhaustion of afflictions. In that very state, there is enlightenment knowing exhaustion and non-arising." Because it is unique, therefore be patient. And so on, many treatises by teachers clearly declare that the intent of the Sutras of the Hearers is also the meaning of emptiness and non-arising. Therefore, this "Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way," which has such a profound meaning, should be understood by three general meanings: the limb of beginning to write, the nature of the treatise to be entered, and the limb of accomplishing the task—the respectful homage of gratitude. The first is the two verses, such as "By what cause and condition arising," which have three aspects: necessity, summary, and meaning of the words. First, virtuous people pay homage to the deity they desire at the beginning of their activities. The teacher himself also does so in order to be in accordance with the conduct of the virtuous, and also so that later disciples, like himself, will pay homage to the excellent object and become of great benefit. Therefore, at the beginning of the treatise, he composes the homage that precedes the praise of the great qualities of his own teacher. Second, these verses directly show the root of all the sufferings of existence and peace—the antidote to all views that cling to the appearance of reality—the non-inverted dependent arising. Thus, by praising the great qualities that surpass other debaters, they show homage to the Buddha Bhagavan, and incidentally declare the subject matter of the treatise, the need, the need of the need, and the only connection. Among them, "Dependent arising,

From… to "not one meaning," it is shown that the subject matter of the treatise is distinguished by eight distinctions such as the non-negation of dependent origination. By "pacifying all elaborations," it shows that Nirvana, which pacifies all elaborations and has the nature of peace, is the purpose of the purpose. The purpose and connection are shown implicitly, because it is said that the treatise will be composed to explain how to realize such a subject matter and obtain such an ultimate purpose. Here, merely showing Nirvana as the ultimate purpose is to show that this treatise is the entrance for people of all three types of faculties. This is a common vehicle, not just the Great Vehicle, because if it were, it would be reasonable to show omniscience itself as the ultimate purpose. Therefore, the Tibetans' interpretation of the collections of Madhyamaka reasoning as merely commentaries on the middle way is not the intention of the noble ones, and although it agrees with Bhavaviveka, that reasoning is unreasonable, as has been said before. The third is: Whoever demonstrates dependent origination, without cessation, without arising, without cessation, without permanence, without coming, without going, not different in meaning, not one in meaning, pacifying all elaborations, showing peace, I prostrate to that supreme Buddha, the best of speakers. Thus it is said, I prostrate. To whom? To the complete Buddha who manifests complete enlightenment in a state of non-arising with a single moment of omniscient wisdom of all dharmas. Seeing what kind of qualities and distinctions in that Buddha does the author begin to prostrate to that teacher? The Buddha who shows dependent origination, from not being born by nature, relying on the wisdom of the noble ones, without cessation, to not one meaning, distinguished by eight distinctions, that itself is for the sake of sentient beings to be tamed, the subject matter of Nirvana, the pacification of elaborations such as speaker and spoken, from the door of reversing the terms of mind and mental factors, away from the oppression of birth, old age, sickness, and death, by showing the meaning of attaining peace in an non-inverted way, from among those who speak of the path of liberation, seeing that he is supreme, that is, the most excellent reason.
