Meditate on the seed syllable Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 吽) of the Samadhi-being residing in the center. These three are one's own form; thoroughly contemplate and generate them as one's own essence. From the Samadhi-being, a vajra arises. Contemplate that the blazing white light, the nature of the five Tathāgatas, radiates in all ten directions. Then, visualize that the power of body, speech, and mind of the complete and incomplete Buddhas, such as Vairocana, residing in the ten directions, is drawn by the iron hook of the Samadhi-being's light and absorbed into one's own Samadhi-being. The practitioner should contemplate in this way. Immediately upon such contemplation, the practitioner subdues all and transforms into the essence of the Great Vajradhara. How does one become the Great Vajradhara? Because body, speech, and mind are inseparable, one holds the vajra of body, speech, and mind. Because one pleases all the Tathāgatas, one is the Great Vajrasattva King. Because one tames and embraces all moving and non-moving lords, including Brahma, one is the supreme Lord of All, the Great Īśvara. Meditate on the Great Vajradhara in such a form. Thus, one's own body mandala is the essence of the Great Vajradhara. This is the method of generating oneself through one's own vajra, that is, one's own mind. This ritual just described is the vajra of all Buddhas of the three times, that is, the power of mind, the essence, that is, the steadfast, gathered, that is, drawn and invited. Thus, having generated oneself as the essence of the mind of all the Tathāgatas, the following will explain how to generate the retinue mandala, that is, adding the word "meditate." Who are they? They are the mantra deities, that is, the four Tathāgatas such as Vairocana. Where are they? In the four directions, such as the east of the main deity. In what manner? In the form of body color and hand symbols as previously described. The distinction of faces is the combination of three faces, such as white, black, and red, distinguished by desire, non-desire, and intermediate desire. From what cause do they arise? From the three colors.
