Commentary on Chapter 10 of "The Illuminating Lamp of Secret Explanation, Dispelling the Darkness of the Mind" Commentary on Chapter 10 of "The Illuminating Lamp of Secret Explanation, Dispelling the Darkness of the Mind" Thus, when a yogi abiding in the two stages and having brought the three practices, including those with elaborations, under his practice, does not attain accomplishment, at that time he should invoke his own deity with the essence mantra. In order to show this, Chapter 10 is explained, divided into two: The general meaning is that from the beginning of this chapter, the distinction shown by the words of the compiler who precedes the supplication is connected. In the middle, the invocation of the essence mantras of the deities of the two stages is shown by the words of the Sugata. At the end, the result of invoking the essence mantra is shown. The meaning of the branches is threefold: The entourage's supplication is that after the completion of Chapter 9, from then on, all the Tathagatas, such as Akshobhya, also gather into one intention with the order explained in the first chapter, and connect by saying, "Thus they supplicated." To whom? To the Bhagavan, the Great Samaya Vajradhara. The Bhagavan himself, with the nature of the two truths being inseparable, is therefore the one who manifestly and completely attains enlightenment. Knowing the different thoughts of the beings to be tamed as they are, he is the Tathagata. What did he do? He prostrated. After calling "Bhagavan," he connected by saying, "Please explain." What is explained? The essence of the mantras such as the serpent, which are all gathered and clarified, the three syllables of the letter Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) and so on. The distinction of that is the body, speech, and mind, which are secretly proclaimed by the Tathagatas, the way to attain great accomplishments such as peace, is a supreme method, and is true because it is not deceptive. Connecting by showing the distinction with the words of the compiler is that after the supplication, it is connected by saying, "He bestowed the command." By whom? Because he is beautiful in relation to wisdom and near attainment, he is the king; because he is the nature of the wisdom of means, he is the Vajradhara, that is, the Great Vajradhara. The distinction of that is that the afflictions such as desire are extremely numerous, the suffering and displeasure of beings equal to the ocean, and so on.

Like being suppressed by radiance, it is the chief because it plays with the nature of supreme joy. It is fiercely blazing because it burns all suffering. It is wide-eyed because it gazes with eyes that are far more expansive than ordinary beings. What is it? It is the speech that will appear below. What is shown is the ritual for urging the essence of the Buddha's teachings, which is divided into two: showing the urging of the essence of the generation stage and the urging of the essence of the completion stage. The first has six parts: meditating on the king of samadhi without object, establishing the basis for urging the essence, the actual ritual for urging the essence, the measure of the time for urging the essence, and showing the benefits and drawbacks of urging and not urging the essence. Meditating on the king of samadhi without object: the body, speech, and mind are meditated upon as being indivisible in the manner of body, speech, and mind vajra. How is it meditated upon? This is the body, this is the speech, this is the mind, and thus its very nature is without division, therefore it is without discrimination. Because there is no mutual dependence, it is without object. The three are of one taste in emptiness, therefore they do not abide anywhere and are in the manner of equality. Establishing the basis for urging the essence: then, the Bhagavan, having entered into samadhi, spoke the following words to the Tathagata who was making the request. What is samadhi? The naturally pure paramita of the Tathagata, such as the eye, etc. The mantras are Vairochana, etc. The manner of these is: they arise in mutual accordance, and that is fearless, therefore it is vajra. In such a samadhi. The Bhagavan called out to all the Tathagatas, and all the Tathagatas, such as Akshobhya, etc., together with Mamaki, etc., practiced together, and with the distinction of practicing accordingly, hundreds of thousands of billions of wisdom and means were practiced closely in the realm. In order to do what is beneficial for sentient beings who desire liberation, in accordance with their intentions, he showed the enjoyment of desirable qualities. How is the manner? In the endless realms of the ten directions, with the five desirable qualities such as forms that always satisfy
