The best of yoga, completely understand in due order, rely on the state of Vajrasattva. Thus it is said. In response, the disciple also said: I have received the supreme accomplishment, and also bestowed the fruit of all samadhis. To all sentient beings, according to their wishes, bestow the unsurpassed accomplishment. With these words, offer thanks. After that, you have received the wisdom empowerment in the mandala of bodhicitta, purified the defilements of the mind, empowered to meditate on the clear light path, and have been made to have the fortune to realize the fruit of the Dharmakaya, thus it is conveyed. It is the wisdom empowerment. After that, for the meaning of the fourth empowerment, with prostrations and offering mandalas preceding, the disciple holds the pride of immovability, visualizes the lama as the nature of the three bodies inseparable, joins the palms with flowers, and says: Possessing the aggregate of omniscient wisdom, purifying the wheel of existence, with the preciousness spoken of today, may the chief lord protect me with kindness. Having abandoned your lotus feet, chief lord, I have no other refuge. Heroic great sage of beings, please definitely grant me empowerment. Having prayed three times in this way, as before, cover the disciple's face, and place him in the position of meditative posture. After that, the fourth empowerment should be introduced through the door of words. Here, the fourth empowerment is that all is emptiness and clear light, and that which makes it manifest is also that which precedes the meditation on the illusory body. As it is said: By the order of my blessing, the clear light will be obtained. Therefore, the Vajra Acharya, first showed me the blessing. Thus it is said. And that self-blessing is a body like an illusion made only of wind and mind, possessing the best of all forms such as signs and examples, like a reflection in a mirror. Thus it is also said: Liberated from real and unreal, the well-drawn Vajrasattva image, in the stainless mirror, is like a clear image appearing. Possessing the best of all forms, the body is never satisfied by seeing, shown to that excellent disciple, this is said to be self-blessing. Thus it is said. Therefore, first the disciple, with the near attainment of mind, appearance, and the three, and the five winds,

The illusory body arising from co-emergent causes, contemplate as the great Vajradhara appearing but empty of inherent existence, like a reflection in a mirror. Then, breathe on the mirror again, or like a rainbow dissolving in the sky, everything dissolves into emptiness and luminosity. The signs appear in sequence: first, earth dissolves into water, like a mirage; then, water dissolves into fire, like smoke; then, fire dissolves into wind, like a firefly; then, wind dissolves into consciousness, like a burning candle; then, consciousness dissolves into luminosity. As the eighty innate conceptions gradually cease, the wisdom of the three appearances of mind gradually manifests. First, as the thirty-three innate qualities arising from desire cease, the wisdom of the first appearance of Samantabhadra's bodhicitta manifests, like the rising of moonlight. Then, as the forty innate qualities arising from hatred cease, the wisdom of the second appearance of Samantabhadra's bodhicitta, the increasing appearance, manifests, like the rising of sunlight. Then, as the seven innate qualities arising from ignorance cease, the wisdom of the third appearance of Samantabhadra's bodhicitta, the near-attainment appearance, manifests, like the darkness of twilight, all conceptual thoughts of memory cease, and a nature of unknowingness arises. Then, the near-attainment appearance dissolves into luminosity, like the cloudless sky at dawn, free from all obscurations of appearance and darkness. Just as one sees the natural color of the sky, all signs of elaboration, such as subject and object, are completely pacified. The ultimate truth of the nature of all phenomena, the union of water with water, and oil with oil, is the manifestation of individual self-aware wisdom, which is also called the emptiness luminosity of all things. It is also called Prajnaparamita, Suchness, the true limit, and ultimate truth, indicating that it is the nature of the fourth empowerment. After instructing to be free from all things, etc., one is placed in equipoise for a while. If one remains solely in luminosity, one will fall into the extreme of peaceful nirvana, so one must rise like a fish from water, or awaken from sleep.
