The lifeline of the doctrine is broken. The Sangha who uphold the doctrine have vanished in the ten directions. Alas, alas, the victory banner of liberation has fallen. The path to liberation for those who desire liberation is lost. Alas, alas, the feast of good speech has declined. The hopes of the wise have been cut off. Alas, alas, the sun of view has set. Who will teach the good tradition of Nagarjuna and his sons? Alas, alas, the ocean of Dharma has dried up. Who will maintain the tradition of teaching of the primordial spiritual brothers? Alas, alas, the claws of scripture and reason are raised high. Who will propagate the reasoning of Dignaga and Dharmakirti? Alas, alas, the vase of discipline is broken. Who will hold the lineage of vows of the two traditions of Upper and Lower Tibet? Alas, alas, the order of abandonment and realization is confused. Who will proclaim the scriptures and reasoning of the two noble lions? Alas, alas, the blessings of experience and realization have vanished. To whom shall we ask for the instructions of Tilopa and Naropa? Alas, alas, the twin lotus gardens of benefit and happiness. The doctrine of teaching and practice has simultaneously declined. Alas, alas, my wretched heart is weary. I am deprived of the fortune to see your face with my own eyes. I have no merit to hear your voice with my own ears. Wherever your mind may be, please grant your blessings. From the great ocean of virtue and qualities, even if I take just one drop of water, I confess and repent all the countless misdeeds I have committed. I ask for forgiveness from all my Dharma friends and relatives. This amazing and wonderful biography of the Guru, urged by the kind friend Sonam Drakpa, has connected countless inferior beings of Ngari who are to be tamed with unwavering faith to the crown jewel of the Buddha. May all this merit and other roots of virtue be gathered together in wisdom, and offered with reverence to the supreme Guru, so that the intentions of the holy Guru may be completely fulfilled. I pray that the biography of the glorious Guru may be blessed by body, speech, and mind. May the wisdom that realizes the meaning of the two truths be vast. Possessing compassion that perfects the two aspects of Bodhicitta. Wisdom and compassion are unmatched. I prostrate to the feet of the glorious Guru. This is said by the master of unobstructed wisdom and immeasurable compassion, the renowned scholar Palden Redawa, who considers all phenomena of relative truth, from form to omniscience, as general characteristics of their own nature.

Having realized the emptiness of all phenomena, seeing the self-nature like an amala fruit in the palm of one's hand, knowing all such measures; truly understanding the ultimate truth, that is, the reality of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, free from all extremes of elaboration, possessing such wisdom, hence the expansion of wisdom. Possessing pure higher intention, wanting to liberate all beings from the ocean of suffering of samsara, and liberating them with perfect application, diligent and unremitting, hence arising the aspiration bodhicitta and the action bodhicitta, possessing great compassion. Such a great person with both wisdom and compassion is unparalleled in the snowy land of Tibet, hence there is no one who can match him. The Great Self proclaimed: With the wisdom to understand samsara and nirvana, and the compassion focused on beings equal to space, sometimes focusing on one, sometimes focusing on both, sometimes practicing both in union. Thus praised. Dharma Lord Tsongkhapa said that his wisdom is incomparable to others. Khenchen Chögyalwa said: The warmth of the great heart is burning fiercely. Thus said. Possessing the auspiciousness of the two accumulations, obtaining pure and unerring empowerment lineage and instructions, after understanding, with the crown of one's own limbs - the head, prostrating to the lotus feet of the body of the teacher and guru, prostrating with the body; with praises such as "Whose kindness is great bliss", praising with speech; generating faith and reverence, prostrating with the mind. Paying homage through the door of reverence. Like Kashyapa, Upali, and Ananda, like the Dharma robe seats of five hundred Arhats, with a sorrowful voice saying: Thus I have heard. Thus respectfully narrating the deeds of the Teacher. That is to say, among the eighty-four thousand Shravaka disciples of the Teacher, Kashyapa, Upali, and Ananda are the most excellent among those who practice, uphold the Vinaya, and are learned. In order to make the holy Dharma of the teachings abide for a long time after the Teacher's passing into Nirvana, they gathered five hundred Arhats who uphold the teachings without absence, and on their Dharma robe seats, remembering the virtues of the Teacher, with a sorrowful voice saying: Thus I have heard, at one time, the Bhagavan was dwelling in Rajagriha on Vulture Peak Mountain.
