Before Jyaqing (嘉庆, a transliteration of the Tibetan word meaning 'bestowal of grace'), the Rakshasas (罗刹, Rakshasa in Sanskrit, meaning 'demon who eats human flesh') amassed jealous armies and fought on the summit of Mount Sumeru (须弥山, Sumeru in Sanskrit, meaning 'wonderfully high mountain'). At that time, the King of Gods (ལྷ་རྒྱལ།) summoned you, and you dispatched an army of emanations, annihilating the Asuras (ལྷ་མིན།) on the battlefield. Similarly, in this degenerate age, when border troops invade and internal strife arises, all who incite conflict are repelled. Finally, in this Fortunate Aeon (བསྐལ་པ་བཟང་པོ།), during a time of strife, when Shakyamuni (ཤཱཀྱ་ཐུབ།) attained complete and perfect enlightenment (རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས།) under the Bodhi tree (བྱང་ཆུབ་སྙིང་པོ།), the evil Mara (གཡོན་ཅན་བདུད།) set up a battlefield. That great Bodhisattva (སེམས་དཔའ་མཆོག) summoned you, and the armies of Mara were defeated, scattering in all directions, and the Buddha (ཐུབ་པ་) manifested enlightenment. Similarly, for those who recite and practice the Dharma, all who create obstacles are repelled. Afterward, in India (རྒྱ་གར།), the land of Dharma, the violent harm of the barbarians (ཀླ་ཀློ།) occurred, especially when the Black Heretics (མུ་སྟེགས་ནག་པོ།) flourished, and all the Wheels of Dharma (ཆོས་འཁོར།) were on the verge of destruction, the Panditas (པཎ་གྲུབ།) summoned you, and all the barbarians were reduced to ashes, and the Black Heretics were transformed into the Dharma. Similarly, all that is mixed with non-Dharma (ཆོས་མིན།) and harmful to the Dharma (བསྟན།) is repelled. Afterward, in Tibet (བོད།), the land of darkness, when the sun of the Buddha's teachings (ཐུབ་བསྟན།) shone, the black demons (ལྷ་འདྲེ།) created darkness. At that time, Guru Padmasambhava (སློབ་དཔོན་པདྨ།) summoned you, subdued the demons, and fulfilled the wishes of the Dharma King (ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ།). The four supreme sons (སྲས་མཆོག་བཞི།) and three mothers (ཡུམ་གསུམ།), repel the malicious plots of enemies (དགྲ།). The Dharma-abiding Protector (མགོན་པོ།) parents, repel the curses (བྱད་ཁ།) cast by others. Wisdom Action Mamos (མ་མོ།), repel the illusions of the demons who create obstacles. Field-protecting Mamos (ཞིང་སྐྱོང་མ་མོ།), repel the causes and conditions of breaking vows (དམ་ཚིག), as well as punishments, diseases, and plagues.
