The path that becomes the essence of the great wisdom empowerment. For the latter two, it is chosen to be the essence of the third empowerment and the fourth empowerment. The means of establishing these are: the discipline of binding body, speech, and mind into the profound means and wisdom of the generation stage; the means and wisdom of the completion stage with signs, which are the same at the beginning and the end; the means and wisdom of the illustrative example; and the means and wisdom of the exemplified meaning. Among these, the necessity of the vase empowerment is to purify the body and manifest the emanation body, so one must hold the vows of the five or six lineages that arise from recognizing the aggregates, elements, and sense bases as deities. In the secret empowerment, the necessity is to purify speech and wind, and to manifest the enjoyment body, so it is the gathering of the ten winds of the root and branches into the central channel. Here, through the outer and inner connections, relying on the outer and inner secret five meats and five nectars with their branches becomes a vow. In the wisdom empowerment, the necessity is to purify mind and bindu, and to manifest the dharma body, so it is the binding of the dripping of the elements into the nature of outer and inner secrets, mainly the vows related to the three seals. In the fourth empowerment, the necessity is to purify wisdom and manifest the essence body, which is the inseparability of the ground and the result, so it is the binding of the mind that has become other than the ground, whether it moves, drips, or wavers. Here, it is also necessary to bind the vows that have the characteristics of channels, winds, and elements, because all that is to be bound and the means of binding, whether subtle or coarse, are only different from the state of the ground. Therefore, non-fabrication itself is the root of all vows, and to guide towards this, many stages of binding have arisen. Since sentient beings have so many conceptualizations, each conceptualization also changes into a vow, so it is known in the treasury of knowledge holders as the 'hundred thousand vows of Samaya'. The ritual for taking these is: one obtains them through the vase empowerment, the secret empowerment, the third empowerment, and the fourth empowerment, in a condensed, medium, or extensive manner, according to one's inclination. Obtaining these is the empowerment, this is the vow, this is the practice. Among these, those obtained during the preparation are called aspirations, and those obtained during the entry are called entry, but the essence of the vow itself is in the actual basis of the empowerment, because at that time the symbolism of obtaining the empowerment is communicated. Regarding how to protect the vows: the objects to be protected are the fourteen root downfalls and their branches, and what is to be accomplished are the vows of the six lineages. The vows related to practice. If the vows are broken, then... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The classification and explanation of the four types of transgressions: First, the root transgressions and the branch transgressions. Part one: The root transgressions include: 1. Disparaging the guru (the root of all accomplishments); 2. Transgressing the teachings of the Sugata (bde bar gshegs pa); 3. Being angry with Vajra brothers and sisters; 4. Abandoning loving-kindness that possesses four characteristics; 5. Abandoning the mind of enlightenment like Kunda (kun da); 6. Slandering one's own or another's philosophical tenets; 7. Proclaiming secrets to those who are not mature; 8. Disparaging one's own aggregates; 9. Having doubts about the Dharma of intrinsic purity; 10. Having hypocritical loving-kindness or loving-kindness towards the wicked; 11. Conceptualizing about the Dharma that is devoid of names, etc.; 12. Discouraging beings who have faith; 13. Not relying on substances of samaya; 14. Slandering women. These are the fourteen in total. These transgressions can be distinguished by six aspects: the difference of the object, the difference of intention, the difference of action, the difference of time, the difference of fault, and the difference of frequency. Through these six distinctions, eighty-four transgressions can arise. These eighty-four transgressions can be further distinguished by three degrees: light, medium, and heavy, thus producing two hundred and fifty-two transgressions. Those that are similar in object, intention, and action to the ultimate transgression belong to their respective categories and have already become defeats and transgressions. Heavy and large ones belong to the branches, and minor faults are small transgressions. These five belong to the branches. Losing autonomy, losing from the power already obtained, gaining ability, changing for the benefit of others, for the sake of stabilizing the unborn, cases allowed in the tantras, obtaining permission from the guru, etc., and using them when life is threatened are faultless. If these are announced at the time of the vase empowerment (bum dbang), does it mean that all of these depend on the root transgressions of the vase empowerment? Of course not. The eighth is the contrary of the vase empowerment, the ninth is the secret empowerment (gsang dbang), the tenth is the wisdom empowerment (shes dbang), and the fourteenth is the fourth empowerment (bzhi pa'i). The first three are the contrary of taking refuge, the fourth and fifth are the contrary of generating the mind of enlightenment, the sixth is the common contrary, the seventh is the contrary of the samaya itself, and the remaining three are the contrary of conduct. Announcing these at the time of the vase empowerment is like stating the objects of training before taking the Bodhisattva vows. Whether it becomes a defeat or a transgression depends on the respective empowerments. In the vase empowerment, it is also necessary to avoid these. Part two, the branch transgressions include: 1. Enjoying the company of consorts (rig ma); 2. Arguing in the Ganachakra (tshogs 'khor); 3. Partaking of the nectar of the consort; 4. Not showing secret teachings to others; 5. Giving wrong answers to questions asked by others; 6. Staying among the Shravakas (nyan thos) for seven days; 7. Claiming to be a mantra practitioner; 8. Explaining to those who are not vessels. These are the eight in total. In addition, there are many other branch transgressions. 6-513 In addition, there are many other branch transgressions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
