Ngawang Chökyi Gyalpo was proclaimed by the world, including the gods, as the reincarnation of the translator Marpa Lotsawa. His wisdom, compassion, and power were no different from all the Buddhas, and his profound and immeasurable writings were vast. He vowed to stay in retreat at his monastery for three years, and after only one year, people came to pay homage to his lotus feet. Although he could not personally meet them due to the retreat, Chöje Yeshe Gyaltsenpa, the head of the newly built monastery, also came to serve and heard many excellent teachings. Later, the restrictions of the retreat were relaxed, and he gladly met with everyone, living together inseparable. The teachings he imparted included the 'Three Instructions on the Great Seal,' which is a key to unlocking all precious tantras, a separate text; and the profound practice of the Guru Yoga; teachings on the essence of dependent origination; the teachings known as 'Combining the Essential Points,' which is the main path of practice for the Dagpo Kagyu; the six teachings on the equality of the elements; the Eight Great Instructions; the Five Thubpas (Buddhas); the Three Mountain Retreat Teachings; the Seven Virtuous Practices, and other profound instructions, as well as the Chakrasamvara Tantra; the initiation and transmission of the Thirteen-Deity Chakrasamvara; the Vajrapani Secret Manifestation Tantra; the collection of oral instructions; the Vajravarahi Two Truths Face-to-Face Teachings; and the Dharma Protector's Tantra practice rituals, such as the Five Practices of the Drukpa Kagyu, as well as the Acala (Tibetan: མི་འཁྲུགས་པ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अचल, Sanskrit Romanization: Acala, Chinese literal meaning: Immovable), the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara Palmo system, the Vajrasattva practice, and the Tsedup Lhamang of the Drupgyal tradition, among other four emergency practices. The Four Dharmas of Je Gampopa, namely, the Three Aspects of the Path of the Three Types of Individuals as taught by the great Atisha; and the Lamdre with its Fruit, the teachings of the Phagdru Kagyu, and so on. In addition, there is the 'Ocean of Practices,' which is the transmission compiled into a text by the great scholar Abhayakaragupta. The lineage masters of the Kagyu, such as Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa, Phagdru, Lingre, Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön, Lö Repa, Sengge Gyutsar, and others' collected works; Lama Zhang's sealed texts, and all the profound Kagyu Dharma treasures; the collected works of Taglung Thangpa from both earlier and later periods; and the golden book of the Four-Armed Protector transmitted from then on, among others, he filled their wisdom vessels with all these initiations, transmissions, and oral instructions. His son, Tritokpa Ngawang Tenzin Gyaltsen, known as an accomplished Vajrapani practitioner, also received the initiations and transmissions of Vajrapani and others. So did his younger brother, the regent Dampa Ngagi Wangchuk Drakpa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
