Even if sent to the place of exhaustion, if one does not recognize that wisdom is liberated in a stubborn way, it is extremely important for those self-purified individuals to hold the ground of the appearance of the essence of original purity. If there is no appearance of self-existing spontaneous accomplishment, then even if that individual becomes a Buddha, he will not be able to benefit sentient beings with compassion, so it is extremely important to become accustomed to and recognize the appearance of self-existing spontaneous accomplishment. Thus, if an individual knows the meaning of the eight appearances, then these appearances are called individuals who possess the characteristics of complete purity. (575) At the time of the confused appearances of the six realms, individuals should know this way. Those who know the arising of appearances, their five gates of wind are exhausted and self-purified. Those who are fortunate enough to know the meaning of obtaining appearances, their wind that grasps color and shape is exhausted, and they know the nature of confusion. The yogi who attains the near attainment of appearance, his wind that grasps the aggregates of near attainment is exhausted, and he is liberated in the body great seal. Therefore, arising, obtaining, near obtaining, these depend on the wind. In order to realize arising, the number of winds is exhausted, and self-liberation in the great seal. The place of obtaining is the power of the subtle wind of hair rays, and near obtaining liberates self-grasping. So it is said. At the time of the illusory appearance of wisdom, one should be skilled in the appearance clusters of the body, one should be skilled in the appearance of bindus, one should be skilled in the appearance rays of wisdom, one should be skilled in the many (576) children of light, yogis should be skilled in seeing the path, therefore, body and bindu, wisdom light, whoever is accustomed to these, has grasped the path of wisdom purity. Thus, when five and five are paired, cherish gathering the essential points of self-nature. At the time of radiating, gathering, and changing, cherish the stability of one's own awareness. When light rays appear in the heart, cherish holding the faith of the upper guru. When appearances appear in fragments, the wise hold the arising of appearances. So it is said. The appearance of direct perception of awareness is, one should be skilled in the order of going forward by reversing the appearances of body and speech. One should be skilled in the measure of appearance as experience increases from above. One should know the abiding place of the essence of original purity of the awareness of the self-exhaustion of dharmata. Therefore, door, object, and essence, whoever practices these three on the path,

May they be liberated in their own place from the mundane! Thus it is said! The appearance of the Sugata (577) taming beings is: one who is skilled in their pure lands has measured all the realms; one who is skilled in the appearance of their body has realized selflessness; one who is skilled in the appearance of their actions; is unimpeded in benefiting sentient beings. Therefore: in the three realms and actions, whoever manifests these three, will realize the three bodies of the Buddha. This is what it means. The appearance of self-purification of delusion is: one who is skilled in the appearance of the pure ground realizes the meaning of the aggregates passing into nirvana; one who is skilled in the appearance of the pure time realizes the meaning of the realms passing into nirvana; one who is skilled in the pure measure realizes the meaning of the result passing into nirvana. Therefore: if you know the ground, measure, and time, you can enjoy all appearances as you wish. This is what it means. The intention of the self-exhaustion of dharmata is: one who is skilled in the time of exhaustion, the elements are self-purified (578) in their own place; one who is skilled in the manner of exhaustion, the body and wisdom, emptiness and non-emptiness, etc., are self-purified in their own place. Therefore: by time, manner, and measure, the guru's instructions are brought to completion. This is what it means. The appearance of the essence of primordial purity is: one who is skilled in the appearance of the essence, the suchness of the body is pure from the beginning; one who is skilled in the appearance of the nature, the suchness of light and bindus is completely pure; one who is skilled in the appearance of compassion, all visible appearances are pure from the beginning as omniscient wisdom. Therefore: by essence, nature, and compassion, the deeds done will not be in vain. This is what it means. One who is skilled in the appearance of self-arisen perfection is: one who is skilled in the appearance of the manner of arising is: not abiding in any extreme, but passing into nirvana. Therefore: the manner of arising, the manner of dissolving, the manner of liberation, are all contained in one's own certainty. All delusions are self-purified. Thus it is said! Thus, if a person experiences the meaning of the eight kinds of appearances (579), it is called joining equally with the Buddha. This is called "The Precious Instruction on Appearances," made by the wise Vimalamitra in the Great Cemetery, the Radiant Bliss, for the benefit of the Dakini Dewai Yidchen. Complete! Translated into its own language by the great Indian scholar Vimalamitra. Guru Namo Yogi! Seeing the face of all the holy Buddhas, possessing the taste of nectar, the bliss of a risen corpse.
