The senses, obscured by ignorance, grasp at appearances, and with a smile, offer the enlightenment of the victors. The gathering of flowers, the fluttering wings, the buzzing, the nectar-gathering bees, relying on the hope of nectar, their feet touching, the flowers close, the stamens bloom, thus protecting you. The meaning of 'make it clear' and 'make it upright' is, Dpal 'dzin sde said: 'May the Bhagavan (Bcom ldan 'das) and his Dharma be victorious, may Sarasvati (Dbyangs can) be completely clear. May beings attain happiness, and be liberated from defilements and non-virtue.' The prayer ending with 'may it remain long', as the teacher Danti said: 'The lotus face with four faces, all the swan daughters are white. May Sarasvati remain long in my heart.' In the previous quotation, 'auspicious' etc., the 'etc.' implies prayers ending with prostration, as the protector Nagarjuna (Klu grub) said: 'Whose net of mental events, is cut by the mind itself, dispelling the ignorance of the mind, I prostrate to that self-mind.' Such initial prostrations are very common in treatises, and taking this as an example, prostration, those worthy of prostration, the place of prostration, etc., should be understood more. Furthermore, the teacher Shakya 'od said: 'With the discipline of renunciation, abandon suffering, destroy the root of the demon of the view of the aggregates, destroy wealth, land, and the flower arrow (referring to desire), I touch the feet of the Buddha with my head, and declare this truth.' Touching (the Buddha's feet) with the head, and in distinguishing Dharma from non-Dharma: 'The scriptures of the Sugata's (Bde gshegs) teachings, like a lion's roar, frighten all the deer of wrong views. Perfectly accomplishing the Buddha's intention, I reverently bow to the incomparable guru.' These two prayers ending with reverence also belong to the category of prostration. The teacher Immortal Lion ('Chi med seng+ge) said: 'Whose ocean of wisdom and compassion, is free from sin, and whose virtues are immeasurable, for the sake of auspiciousness and nectar, relying on endless wisdom.' And in the Garland of Flowers: 'Treasure of wisdom, the自在者(dbang po) who opens the door of wisdom, the victor (rgyal ba) like the sun, radiating light, may its light always shine on the crown of my head.' These two also belong to the category of offerings, taking this as an example: 'May your feet be placed on the crown of my head, may I receive the dust of your feet with the crown of my head, may I offer with the crown of my head, may I rely on the crown of my head' etc., should be understood as much as possible.

Regarding words ending with praise and so on, explaining the meaning of offering and praise, although there are many different methods of explanation, all need to include three points: purpose, summary, and meaning of words. First, regarding the purpose: at the beginning of writing a treatise, offering praise to a special object can enable the author to obtain merit, be listed among the sages, and others can also cultivate through teaching, listening, and other methods of the sages' words and meanings, so as to obtain temporary and ultimate happiness. As Manjushri's incarnation said: 'The sages who write treatises should offer praise to the teacher, in order to promote the Dharma, use pure language, from which beautiful meanings can be seen.' Secondly, regarding the summary: it refers to how anyone offers praise to any object in what way. Thirdly, regarding the meaning of words: it refers to focusing on the merits of the object of offering, and determining its meaning according to the specific situation. For this, three methods can be adopted: examining like a lion, jumping like a frog, and moving like a turtle. First, examining like a lion means examining all the foundations with an appreciative eye like a lion, and then starting to offer praise, such as 'I prostrate' and so on. Secondly, jumping like a frog means dividing the ground into pieces like a frog jumping, and dividing and determining the meaning of offering and praise according to different situations. Thirdly, moving like a turtle means that, like a turtle, one should not leave anything behind on the road one is walking on with meticulous steps, and one needs to explain every sentence of offering and praise very carefully, without leaving out a single word. The summary and these two methods need to be combined with their respective offerings and praises to apply. Next is the part about promising to explain. The second part is about promising to explain, including two parts: the nature of the promise and the incidental explanation of the meaning of the name. The first part includes three parts: the promise itself, the display of its names, and the method of explanation. First, regarding the promise itself: by saying 'will explain', 'will write', 'will listen', etc., it shows the promise to explain, thus showing that there is an intention to explain in the heart. As Manjushri's incarnation said: 'Promises and exhortations are to show joy for the sake of explanation.' Secondly, displaying its names: it is necessary to understand the differences in the endings of words by explaining the way of promising. Among them, words ending with 'need to distinguish', such as the Vinaya Sutra, etc.
