Please remain here. (Praying) You are the infallible refuge, the protector from the fears of samsara. Until the essence of enlightenment, I take refuge in you in every way. In order to bring happiness to all beings, I make a vow before the Buddha: Having generated the supreme Bodhicitta, I will practice the ocean-like conduct. May this merit and other merits, abandoning the poison of clinging to existence and non-existence, be dedicated as Mañjuśrī dedicates. The above is what is shown. Second, regarding other distinctions of dedication: wishing benefit to those who are not to be tamed, etc.; requesting to look upon those in the abyss of sin; wishing oneself to liberate all beings, there are three. First, wishing benefit to those who are not to be tamed, etc.: Now I will dedicate in this way, for the sake of saving the poverty of beings never before thought of, I pray to the supreme protector: 'For those sons who are to be tamed, you have promised not to let them miss the time of the Buddha, I rejoice in this.' For those beings who are not to be tamed by you, I will go before them, transform their minds with countless emanations, and lead them into your teachings. Although you do not have abandonment without examination, you teach that abandonment can only be done after examination. For those beings whom you have abandoned, I will, with great effort, make them become objects to be tamed by you. Omniscient, you know where to go and where not to go, but you will prevent actions in places where you should not go. I will go before them and make them vessels of Dharma. 'Karma is what I do,' for the endless feeling of suffering, although you have skillful means and compassion, you still say that they are not to be tamed. For those beings whom you deem untamable, I will go before them, and even if I cannot save them from suffering, I wish to be a companion in their suffering. Although it is difficult to benefit sentient beings, and even if they are benefited, it is difficult to satisfy them, but if they are not benefited, may I teach them with love. The above is what is shown. Second, requesting to look upon those in the abyss of sin: Although the sun's rays are extremely bright, they are not bright to the blind; although the source of jewels is abundant, it is difficult to obtain without effort; Although the doctor who benefits beings is here, he is very easily angered when possessed by demons; although you, who have great compassion, dwell here, it is difficult for sinful beings to see. Dwelling in the dark abyss oneself... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like complaining about the sunlight, Similarly, residing in the pit of sin, One only complains about you, who are beneficial. Seeing such fools, The Protector, with billions of emanations, Appears before each one, Teaching the Dharma that brings them joy, Praying to eliminate all suffering. The above verses explain this meaning. Third, praying to liberate all sentient beings: I, as well as those beings whom you have not yet liberated, May all existing beings, Through the activities of all Buddhas, Become even more excellent and accomplish benefit. The above verses explain this meaning. Requesting to clarify the truth and falsehood to sentient beings, Dedicating merit and stating the author. Third, requesting to clarify the truth and falsehood to sentient beings: This letter that I present, Even without saying, you know it in your heart. However, to clarify the collection of pain in my heart, I present this letter to you. Those who speak the Dharma like me, If they speak the truth, mostly get angry. Because they fear that lying will create sin, This is also a letter for them. I, too, am drawn by the karma of previous lives, To be born in this degenerate age in the midst of the snowy mountains. However, because of your compassionate care, I have developed faith and wisdom in the Buddha's teachings. Even so, because I have not followed your teachings, Most people are not pleased. Please consider this and discern what you believe to be true, And clarify it to sentient beings. The above verses explain this meaning. Fourth, dedicating merit and stating the author, Divided into two parts: dedicating merit and stating the author. First, dedicating merit is further divided into, Dedicating for oneself and dedicating for others. First, dedicating for oneself: May I, in all my lives, Uphold the teachings of the Sugata, Make the true and authentic Lama happy, And become a protector for all sentient beings. The above verses explain this meaning. Second, dedicating for others: May this merit and the root of other merits, Whether perfectly accumulated by me or others, Be free from the poison of clinging to existence or non-existence, May all beings attain the state of omniscient Buddhahood. The above verses explain this meaning. Second, stating the author: Presented as a letter to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, Written by Sakya Pandita (Sakya Pandita, a famous scholar of the Sakya school), the holder of the Tripitaka, complete. Auspicious! Emaho! To the Buddhas of the ten directions and their sons, With the sacred Dharma of the five sciences (hetu-vidyā, śabda-vidyā, cikitsā-vidyā, śilpakarma-vidyā, adhyātma-vidyā) as messengers, Born from the words that uphold the nature of all, This voice is like the roar of Mañjuśrī (文殊菩萨,梵文:Mañjuśrī) with a thousand throats. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
