As stated in the 'Mirror of Poetry' itself: 'Sound and meaning themselves are splendid, easy and difficult tasks and paths, the virtues and faults of poems, are thus briefly distinguished.' Fifth, what is the purpose of composing? The main purpose has already been stated above. The non-main purpose is to gain the fame of scholars, to obtain wealth and respect, etc., having seen the special purpose of generating all the virtues of worldly and peaceful states. The above is a brief explanation of the general meaning. Second part, explaining the benefits of knowing poetry. Explaining the details, as shown above, for the intelligent ones, the fields to be studied include the five major sciences and the five minor sciences, a total of ten aspects. Poetry is one of the five minor sciences, not only a minor science, but also in the five major sciences, it is the core of craftsmanship and a branch of grammar, as stated in the standard treatises. Moreover, all the expressions of the inner science, the three baskets, exist only in the form of poetry. Therefore, among all ten fields, poetry is the most outstanding. Therefore, here, for those with lower intelligence, we will temporarily set aside the very extensive contents of the poetry treatises that are not very necessary, and focus on explaining the examples of अर्थालंकार (Tibetan: དོན་རྒྱན།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अर्थालंकार, Sanskrit Romanization: arthālaṃkāra, Chinese literal meaning: ornament of meaning). There are four aspects to this: explaining the benefits of knowing poetry, explaining the faults of not knowing poetry, explaining the reasons for knowing poetry, and explaining poetry itself. First, in the 'Bhadrakalpika Sutra' it is said: 'The Tathagata, the Knower of Time ज्ञान (Tibetan: དུས་མཁྱེན།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization: jñāna, Chinese literal meaning: knowledge) King, is a poet, praising the Sugata auspicious grass, after praising with verses, initially generated the supreme Bodhicitta.' Therefore, poetry is the cause of unsurpassed Bodhi. In other sutras it is also said: 'One should compose poetry, one should praise the Three Jewels, from which a great accumulation of merit will increase.' Moreover, our teacher also said that praising the Buddha Star with one verse of poetry can complete the accumulation of forty thousand kalpas. Therefore, poetry is a particularly excellent method for increasing the accumulation of merit and wisdom. Moreover, in the Jataka of the Teacher Simha-pada, it is said: 'Great poetry masters, because they know poetry, their speech is considered to be proficient in the vast scriptures.' Therefore, the expression of speech becomes proficient in the vast scriptures. Furthermore, the actions of scholars are speaking, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

除了辩论和写作之外,精通诗歌(梵文:kāvya, काव्य,kavya,诗歌)的好处是无穷无尽的,例如,无论一个人是否理解诗歌的优劣,都会影响其发展方向。共同的益处在于,《诗镜》(Kāvyādarśa)中说:‘如果悦耳的声音不能照亮轮回,那么整个三界将陷入黑暗。’这表明诗歌能够驱散世间的黑暗。此外,‘昔日国王的声名,如同语言之镜。即使他们不在身边,他们的光辉也不会消退。’这表明名声可以长久流传。此外,‘智者精心创作的语言,能满足一切愿望。’这意味着诗人的语言能够满足所有愿望。此外,‘具有高尚品质的诗歌,将永存至劫末。’这意味着具有优良品质的诗歌作品将永不磨灭。此外,‘即使是创作一首小诗,也能在智者的集会上获得尊重和权力。’这意味着在智者的集会上,人们可以获得尊重、荣誉和名声等等,好处是无穷无尽的。 不精通诗歌的过失以及精通诗歌的原因: 第二,不精通诗歌的过失。《如意藤蔓》(Dpag bsam 'khri shing)中说:‘如果没有智者,智慧将会衰退,人们的生活将毫无意义。如果没有无与伦比的诗歌,智者的言语就像鹦鹉的学舌。’这意味着如果不精通诗歌,智者的言语也会像鹦鹉学舌一样,缺乏意义。在《诗镜》中说:‘不了解诗歌的人,如何区分优点和缺点?就像盲人无法分辨颜色一样。’这意味着不了解诗歌的人,就像盲人一样,无法区分优缺点。此外,‘如果错误地创作诗歌,作者会被称为牛。’这意味着不精通诗歌的人,如果创作诗歌,就会被嘲笑为愚蠢的牛,这样的例子不胜枚举。 第三,精通诗歌的原因。《诗镜》中说:‘天生的才能、广博的知识、纯洁的智慧和不懈的努力,是创作优秀诗歌的原因。’这意味着前世的积累使人今生具有天生的才能,即与生俱来的智慧;从博学的老师那里广泛学习文化知识;

Besides debate and writing, the benefits of mastering poetry (Sanskrit: kāvya, काव्य, kavya, poetry) are endless, such as whether or not one understands the merits of poetry affects its direction. The common benefits are, as stated in the Kāvyādarśa (The Mirror of Poetry): 'If the pleasant sound does not illuminate the cycle of existence, then the entire triple world will turn into darkness.' This shows that poetry can dispel the darkness of the world. Furthermore, 'The fame of the former kings is like a mirror of language. Even if they are not present, their glory does not fade.' This shows that fame can last for a long time. Furthermore, 'The words that the wise have skillfully composed are remembered as fulfilling desires.' This means that the words composed by poets are said to fulfill all desires. Furthermore, 'Poetry adorned with noble qualities will last until the end of the kalpa.' This means that texts with good poetic qualities will never perish. Furthermore, 'Even making an effort on a small poem, one has the power to sit in the assembly of the wise.' This means that in the assembly of the wise, one can gain respect, honor, and fame, etc., the benefits are endless. The faults of not knowing poetry and the reasons for knowing it: Second, the faults of not knowing poetry. The Dpag bsam 'khri shing (Wish-Fulfilling Vine) says: 'If there are no wise people, wisdom will decline, and people's lives will be meaningless. If there is no unparalleled poetry, the words of the wise are like the chatter of parrots.' This means that if one is not proficient in poetry, the words of the wise will be like the chatter of parrots, lacking the essence of meaning. In the Kāvyādarśa it says: 'How can a person who does not know poetry distinguish between merits and faults? Just as a blind person cannot distinguish colors.' This means that a person who does not understand poetry, like a blind person, cannot distinguish between merits and faults. Furthermore, 'If one composes poetry incorrectly, the author will be called a cow.' This means that a person who is not proficient in poetry, if he composes poetry, will be ridiculed as a foolish cow, and there are countless such examples. Third, the reasons for mastering poetry. The Kāvyādarśa says: 'Innate talent, extensive knowledge, pure intelligence, and tireless effort are the reasons for creating excellent poetry.' This means that the accumulation of previous lives gives one innate talent in this life, that is, innate wisdom; extensively learning cultural knowledge from learned teachers; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
