Therefore, listening to the undefiled Dharma treasury and practicing in solitude is the Dharma tradition of the noble ones. If one pursues the interests of this life, he cannot become the guru of gurus; if one pursues liberation, he should rely on a guru who has abandoned the eight worldly dharmas (gain and loss, praise and blame, fame and disgrace, pleasure and pain). If one thinks that having abundant wealth and enjoying delicious food are the signs of a qualified guru, then there is no such statement in all the Dharma treasuries. If you find a qualified guru, do not be concerned with happiness or sorrow, but rely on him with proper respect, for all virtues arise from this. If a Dharma tradition does not conform to the treatises of those who are proficient in the sutras and tantras, even if it is called profound, if you follow it, it is foolish, otherwise it is not. If a Dharma tradition has pure evidence and reasoning, and is accompanied by the key instructions of a pure lineage, then following this unerring and excellent Dharma tradition is the mark of a wise person. Abandoning worldly thoughts, valuing the results of karma as much as life itself, and seeing fame and gain as enemies, these are the virtues spoken of in the Dharma. Without attachment to the three realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm), striving to practice the three trainings (discipline, concentration, wisdom), and through the three activities of listening, thinking, and meditating, one will transcend all three realms. Being embraced by a holy guru, making the benefit of others the primary task, and untying the knots of attachment, one will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. From the treatise on Dharma traditions, 'The Mirror of Discernment,' the seventh chapter is the chapter on understanding the treatises. Concluding remarks: Even if noble conduct and wealth pervade everything, if one does not depart from the household life, what other destruction could be worse than this? People will eventually die of starvation, and at the time of death, wealth and retinue will not follow you, only the practice of the sacred Dharma will follow. If one is attached to relatives and friends like guests meeting in an inn, and does not practice the sacred Dharma, what other delusion could be greater than this? If one is attached to dream-like pleasures and echo-like sweet words, and does not depart from the household, what other deception could be greater than this? Although there is a way to achieve lasting happiness, to involve oneself in the causes of suffering is merely the thought of an animal in the form of a human. Like a rosary, even though one has experienced various kinds of suffering in samsara, if one is still attached to it, how can one not generate renunciation? Due to the deluded thoughts of improper attention, one grasps the false as true, and perceives what does not exist as existing. Alas, how terrible is the power of negative karma! No matter what one does, one is only running around for this life; no matter what one does, one is only running around for food. The pursuit of desires...

O you who have not seen! Such practitioners are also in vain. The essence of wealth is contentment. If you abandon bustle, you will be happy. When the mind is connected to the Dharma, everything that appears is the meaning of practice. If you remember death, you will enter the Dharma. If you abandon sin, you are a practitioner. Because of weariness, one desires to destroy samsara. If you realize emptiness, you will be liberated. Because of compassion, one does not desire self-peace, and in emptiness, one does not cling to existence. This is the cause of non-abiding nirvana. The incomparable skillful means and wisdom, are the destroyer of broken discipline, the emptiness of abandoning karmic results, and in the unlearned state, even if you practice, it is difficult to attain Buddhahood. Not clinging to this world, with strong faith, diligence, and diligence, for those who diligently practice the Dharma, the Buddha will soon be present before them. In the midst of noisy bustle, those who take the essence of Dharma, those beings will constantly suffer the suffering of samsara. Therefore, a wise person should carefully discern the benefits and harms, abandon all worldly affairs, and only take Dharma as their business. 《Treatise on Logic - A Mirror for Discernment》ends, the eighth chapter dwells in the Dharma. I have seen the Golden Light Sutra, and the prophecy of true speech, and the Hundred Wisdoms, etc., and Candala, etc. Especially the words of Sakya Pandita, the treasure of precious gems of good sayings. Study and practice well, and also like the glorious Aryadeva, etc., the wonderful words of good sayings of successive sages, have been associated with them for a long time. The actions and behaviors of the virtuous and the inferior are seen and heard in the heart, relying on the teachings of the guru and one's own wisdom to expound this treatise. If people today have abandoned the sutras and treatises, then this treatise that I have written will not be able to benefit others. However, in order to cultivate one's own mind well, for the sake of joy, faith, and habit, and for the sake of collecting the vast Treatise on Logic, I expound it here. May all beings, through this virtue, not have evil deeds in their minds, and through virtuous deeds, may they practice the Dharma. Thus spoke Ngawang Kunga Sonam, the mantra holder of the glorious Sakya school, whose mind is rich with all the words of Sakya Pandita and many sutras and treatises, with the wise eyes that discern the acceptance and rejection of the two principles, so that all intelligent people hold on to the right path, for the sake of practicing the precious Dharma in accordance with the Dharma, may it be auspicious! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
