By demonstrating the learning and practice of Ika and so on, he effortlessly understood them. At the age of eight, when he went grazing with his uncle, he saw the reflection of the moon in the water. When he told his uncle, the uncle said, 'That is the reflection of the moon in the sky.' It is said that he understood the meaning of profound dependent origination from that time on. Before the age of thirteen, he stayed there and completed the study and practice of reading, Jetsun Gongma's hymns, and all the religious rituals. It is said. How to Abide in the Buddha's Teachings Secondly, regarding how to abide in the Buddha's teachings: Due to the connection of good habits from the past, at the age of thirteen, in the place called Dakpo (dKar po, White), in the year of the Female Snake, he went to Pal Ewam Choden (dPal e waM chos ldan, Glorious Ewam Monastery), and prostrated at the lotus feet of the Abbot Chokyi Gyalpo Konchok Phelwa (chos kyi rgyal po dkon mchog 'phel ba, Dharma King Konchok Phelwa), without thinking even for a moment of any faults in his body, speech, and mind activities, and only seeing wonderful qualities, he was accepted with great love. Because all external and internal dependent origination were naturally harmonious, he became the source of all qualities. In all circumstances, he expressed praise for the qualities of the Dharma King, and upon hearing his name, faith and reverence arose involuntarily, shedding tears, etc., showing sincere and spontaneous devotion to his body, speech, and mind, which was evident to all. On the eighth day of the month of Sronton (sNron zla ba, fifth month in Tibetan calendar) of that year, he requested the Abbot Konchok Phelwa (dkon mchog 'phel ba, Jewel Increase) to be the Khenpo, and he requested Je Glowo Khenchen Thamche Khyenpa Sonam Lhundrup Lekpai Jungne Gyaltsen Pal Zangpo (rje glo bo mkhan chen thams cad mkhyen pa bsod nams lhun grub legs pa'i 'byung gnas rgyal mtshan dpal bzang po, Omniscient Sonam Lhundrup Lekpai Jungne Gyaltsen Pal Zangpo) to be the Acharya. Cholung Kagyupa Trinle Wangchukpa (chos lung bka' bcu pa phrin las dbang phyug pa, Cholung Kagyupa Trinle Wangchukpa) served as the secret preceptor, and the Vinaya holder Yonten Gyatso (yon tan rgya mtsho, Ocean of Qualities) and other one hundred monks, in the Yabchen chamber of Pal Ewam Choden (dpal a waM chos ldan, Glorious Ewam Monastery), received the pure vows of individual liberation—upasaka and sramanera, which are the root of the teachings, and was given the name Konchok Lhundrup (dkon mchog lhun grub, Jewel Spontaneously Accomplished). From then on, he cherished the training of higher morality more than his own eyes, and practiced all the subtle precepts without omission, which was the behavior of the past Aryas. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They dwell there like the victorious Arhats. Then, considering that staying in the Labrang (bla brang, residence of the head of the monastery) might cause many distractions, he summoned Geshe (dge shes, Doctor of Buddhist Philosophy) Rinchen Thurwa Gelek (dge legs) Geshepa to his presence. The Guide Supreme Dharma Lord ('dren mchog chos rje) said, 'I have great expectations for this child, do not let him waste his time, and you should be a reliable assistant for proper hearing, contemplation, and meditation.' And so on, he gave countless teachings with boundless love. After that, this holy being relied on the same virtuous friend as a student, listening to his teachings as instructed. With a very disciplined attitude, he diligently engaged in hearing, contemplation, and meditation. When he was seventeen years old, the supreme offering of the Ewam Monastery (e waM chos ldan), as well as all the rituals and their components of Hevajra (kye rdor), Gurusamaja (gur saM), Chakrasamvara (bde mchog), Guhyasamaja Five Stages (gsang 'dus lnga'i chog khrigs), and the Three Tantras of Glorious Hevajra (dpal dges pa rdo rje rgyud gsum), 'The Seven Treatises of All Needs' (kun tu dgos pa'i gzhung bdun), 'Collection of Commentaries' ('grel pa dag ldan), 'Bodhicharyavatara' (spyod 'jug), 'Abhidharmakosha' (mngon pa mdzod), 'Madhyamakavatara' (dbu ma 'jug pa), 'Compendium of the Three Vows' (sdom gsum rab dbye), and all the great treatises, he mastered them completely in one go, and recited them in front of the Guide Supreme Dharma Lord, who was very pleased. The holy being himself said, 'To gain merit, do not forget the wisdom you have, repeat it for three years and three years. If you forget as soon as you pick up a book, how can you gain merit?' I also heard that, 'When I was ten years old, I was able to recite all the scriptures mentioned above very fluently.' The Way to Rely on a Virtuous Friend Third, the way to rely on a virtuous friend: First, in front of the Guide Supreme Dharma King Konchok Phel (dkon mchog 'phel), receive the Pratimoksha vows, and in connection with it, receive the ten fundamental vows of a novice monk. 'Letter to a Friend' (springs yig) is beneficial advice for students. In connection with the Bodhisattva vows, the 'Bodhisattva Confession of Downfalls' (byang chub ltung bshags) separately extracted from the Bodhicitta practice of the Madhyamaka school, 'Essence of Space Sutra' (mdo nam mkha'i snying po), and its method of recitation; the Bodhicitta ritual of the Madhyamaka school composed by Sakya Pandita (sa paN) and its lineage, known as the famous 'Seventeen Laws of Sibuwa' (s lung si bu ba bcu bdun); and the chapters of these rituals composed by Chim Namkha Drak (mchims nam mkha' grags); 'Shikshasamucchaya' (bslab pa kun las btus), 'Bodhicharyavatara' (spyod 'jug), the chapters of 'Bodhicharyavatara' composed by Jetsun (rje btsun), and the commentary on 'Bodhicharyavatara', 'Oral Teachings' (gsung bgros ma), Atisha's (jo bo) 'Hundred Dharmas' (thugs dam chos chung brgya rtsar), and the 'Twenty Verses on Vows' (sdom pa nyi shu pa). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
