|| This is the tantra that explains the fruit of empowerment. As it says in the Vajrapani Empowerment Tantra: Bodhisattva Mahasattva, this great dharani mandala is extremely vast, extremely profound, and unfathomable. It is more secret than secret, and should not be shown to sinful beings. Vajrapani, you should speak something extremely rare. This has never been heard before. To what kind of beings should this be explained? Vajrapani said: Manjushri, those who have entered the practice of bodhicitta, and when they have attained bodhicitta, Manjushri, those bodhisattvas who practice the conduct of bodhisattvas, who practice in the door of secret mantra, should be introduced into the dharani mandala of great wisdom empowerment. Those who have not perfected bodhicitta should not be introduced, nor should they be allowed to see the mandala. Nor should they be shown mudras and secret mantras. Therefore, precious bodhicitta is the essential point of the path that should not be abandoned. Thus, with the intention of renunciation and compassion, generating great faith, without having time to practice bodhi in countless kalpas, in one lifetime, or even within sixteen lifetimes, one can realize the state of union Vajradhara, and thus be able to liberate all kind mother sentient beings from the great ocean of samsara. If such a wish arises, and a non-artificial intention of urgency arises in the mind for enlightenment, then one has found the first aspect of the path to enter the Vajrayana. As the great omniscient Mipham Rinpoche said: Thus, after generating the supreme bodhicitta, enter the meaning of the inner and outer secret mantra generation and completion. And so on. Thus, after taming one's mind stream with the common vehicle, when a fortunate individual enters the Vajrayana, one should seek a qualified vajra master, abandon deceit and hypocrisy, and rely on him like one's own eyes. As it says in the Ornament of the Essence: The mind of the wise, the nature of liberation, the patient and gentle disciple, the root of accomplishment.

That's all. First, one should examine the guru to be relied upon. Moreover, all sutras and tantras state that without relying on a guru, one generally cannot enter the path of liberation. In particular, the accomplishments of the Vajrayana path depend entirely on the guru, so it is repeatedly emphasized to rely on a guru. The Compendium says: "Good disciples are respectful to the guru, they should always rely on wise gurus. Why is that? Because the qualities of the wise arise from this. They proclaim the Prajnaparamita, the Buddha's teachings should rely on a virtuous friend." The king who possesses all the best qualities said so. The Net of Illusion Tantra says: "First of all, accomplishment depends on following the teacher. If there is no teacher, then accomplishment cannot be obtained. Therefore, the characteristics of the teacher should be explained." Without a guru, one cannot understand the meaning of the profound secret mantra through one's own experience, so one must strive to rely on one, as advised in the Buddha's Secret Path Gradual Teachings: "Like a blind person who cannot walk, losing the target or losing experience, one cannot proceed. A rough, unruly person cannot transform into the essence of secrets through their own experience, like a fruitless tree. Therefore, respect the guru as instructed, endure examination, behavior, renunciation, and tolerance, do not regard the suffering seen as a burden, and endure everything for the sake of long-term benefit. If one relies with a difficult mind, one can conquer the Vajra, and the appearance of experience will be obtained. At that time, the great continuum will be in accordance with the scriptures, and offering will give the essence of the heart. In this way, like riding a good horse, relying on the power of secret miracles, from the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, to the ultimate, entering the base path, and finally reaching the place of the essence of wisdom." The Secret Essence Tantra says: "Revealing the hidden meaning from the depths of the heart, the teacher dwells in the Vajra heart." Therefore, recognizing that accomplishment is based on the root guru, seek a guru, and after finding a guru, repeatedly request empowerment. The Union Made Clear says: "By doing so, one should pray to the guru: Please grant me empowerment." Just like that. When praying in this way, the guru should not hastily give empowerment and instructions without examination, because this will cause the disciple's continuum to become unsuitable.

And, because the profound instructions will be wasted, and there is a risk of being punished by the dakinis. Therefore, examine the student's potential. If he is not a suitable vessel, help him with the common vehicle and try to avoid him. The Lamrim says: "Becoming the cause of small desires, becoming the cause of great profit and fame, becoming the cause of essence leaking and being exhausted, becoming the cause of not clinging to inappropriate things, cutting off external worldly affairs and being bound to the mind, hypocritical flattery, slandering behind the back, secretly self-satisfied, speaking definitely but thinking uncertainly, fornicating with women, liking to engage in sexual activity in dark and hidden places, not praising tantra between men and women, even if one revolves like a shadow for countless eons, there will be no happiness in the heart. At the appropriate time, show the body and give fierce threats. Otherwise, like a calf tied together falling into a cliff. Desire and pride are taken away, hypocrisy is exposed, if one comments without understanding the truth, it is a charnel ground. Gathering like the eight dakinis, falling like eating flesh and taking life." Therefore, do not give instructions at the beginning. If you want to enter the Vajrayana, you must know how to rely on the Vajra Master. First, the Fifty Verses on the Guru by Master Bhavi should be taught. The student should also start by relying on mantras, wanting to obtain supreme accomplishments. Unless one can please the Vajra Master, there is no other way, so study it well. No matter what happens, overcome all difficulties and fatigue, and do not be dominated by arrogance and selfishness. Learn how the holy beings who have attained accomplishment in the past relied on the Guru. The method of relying on the Guru is the beginning of establishing connections on the path of mantra, so it is very important not to reverse it. If the method of relying on the Guru becomes careless and casual, then the instructions will also become careless and casual. If the instructions become careless and casual, then faith and diligence will also become careless and casual. If faith and diligence become careless and casual, then supreme accomplishments will also follow, so do not regard the beginning of this path as a preliminary practice and a simple dharma and ignore it, but cherish it, this is the key to the path.
