Taking refuge and generating bodhicitta with the inseparable intention of the Lama and the mandala deity, recite as follows: Hūṃ! Embodiment of all lineages, Vajradhara, Glorious root Lama, And the ocean of the three roots and wealth deities, Until enlightenment, I take refuge. Three times. Cutting off the poverty of myself and others, In order to liberate all motherly beings, From the wealth owner, Wish-fulfilling Jewel, I properly begin the approach, accomplishment, offering, and praise. May all realize enlightenment! Three times. Having thus purified the mindstream with the common refuge and bodhicitta, in order to purify the mindstream by bestowing uncommon wisdom, first, in order to cherish the samaya, pour the samaya water and vow to abide in the samaya: Give the samaya water: Hūṃ! This is the secret water of samaya, Son, drink and protect the samaya, These views and practices of this secret mantra, Do not speak to others, practice them, You will attain supreme and common siddhis. Oṃ āḥ hūṃ samaya svāhā! Bestow the water endowed with Dharma medicine. In order to invoke the wisdom being, visualize as follows: Purify with the water of the action vase, and purify the disciple's mindstream with the light from the heart of the teacher, who is visualized as Vajrapāṇi, and recite: Oṃ mahā śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva atmako'haṃ. By saying this, purify all impure things, represented by this body of flesh and blood, which is the ripening result, into emptiness.
