When King Indrabodhi of Oddiyana met him, he asked: "O young and holy boy, who is your father? Who is your mother? What do you eat? What do you do here?" He replied: "My father is the wisdom of awareness, my mother is bliss-emptiness Samantabhadri, my country is the unborn dharmadhatu, my food is dualistic thought, and here I cultivate the practice of destroying afflictions." The king was pleased and invited him to the nine-storied palace as a prince, and gave him the name Padma Gyalpo (Lotus King). Furthermore, the land of Oddiyana in the west is shaped like an overturned triangle, its expanse is two-thirds of the world, and in its center is a forest of sandalwood trees called Dhana. In a place called Kośa, there is a lake in the center, filled with beings with human bodies, bear faces, iron claws on their hands and feet, and bodies adorned with many small jewels. In the Indian language, it is called dhana-kośa-nāga-sāgara, and in Tibetan, it is called Klu-dzing Phuk-lek (Auspicious Dragon Lake), which is filled with the eight limbs of humans, and that lake is the palace of the Naga king Jogpo. The inhabitants of that land wear various colors of white and blue cloth, and the men tie their hair in topknots on their heads, adorned with gold, silver, and coral. The women tie their hair in two parts, front and back, and adorn themselves with conch shells and bone ornaments. In general, in this world, it is said that there are one hundred and thirteen places where dakinis gather, and among them, eight supreme places are located in that country, so only the unsurpassed tantric teachings flourish and are practiced there, a land with the nature of the five perfections. The Guru Rinpoche, who was born in such a supreme and special land, stayed in the king's palace for five years, in the Cool Grove for five years, and studied various arts for ten years. He stayed for two hundred years each in the lands of India, China, Oddiyana, Zahor, Magadha, Tirthikas, Kashmir, Simhala, Li Yul, Marutse, and others. He stayed for ninety-eight years each in Asha, Brusha, Shambhala, Zhangzhung, Tazig, Gesar, Thogar, Rugma, Rakshasa, and Naga lands. He performed activities for the benefit of beings in Nepal for forty years, and his name is Padma Dromgon Tsal.
