arising from that, and confusion arises from not realizing the ground. Therefore, when the ground appearance itself arises, one realizes and goes to the liberation of original purity, then one is a Buddha of manifest realization, therefore, the ten powers are manifestly present. Therefore, although the qualities of nirvana, such as powers, do not abide in the ground, they are inherently present, but only a Buddha with perfect realization can fully manifest those qualities, even the great bodhisattvas of the ten bhumis cannot fully manifest them, let alone ordinary beings. Therefore, whether all the qualities of that ground are manifestly apparent or not is not from the perspective of the ground itself, but must be distinguished according to the appearance of the Buddha who truly realizes the ground and the sentient beings who do not realize it. The nature of the original ground, which does not change at any time in samsara or nirvana, is called intrinsic. Both liberation and confusion are sudden events that arise from its power. If the ground does not waver, neither samsara nor nirvana will appear. Therefore, it is said in the Madhyāntavibhāga: Samsara and nirvana, these two arise suddenly. Thus, in terms of the nature of the original ground's abiding, which is not distinguished by sudden events in either samsara or nirvana, it is not a place to consider whether the wisdom of the ten powers is manifestly present, and whether the marks and signs of the enjoyment body and the pure lands, etc., are completely present or not. When one has not wavered from the ground, one can only say that one abides in the great expanse of emptiness and clarity. Because the two, Buddha and sentient beings, have not arisen at that time, although the pure qualities are undifferentiated, they are inconceivable because there is no distinction between this and that. For example, like the samadhi in which dualistic appearances have subsided in the emptiness and luminosity of a noble one in training, there is no elaboration whatsoever. The ten powers are the knowing wisdom, and they must be examined from the perspective of how they know the objects and non-objects, the faculties, inclinations, and thoughts of the beings to be tamed. Then, are the qualities of the omniscient wisdom and the vast qualities of the body, etc., only considered to be the part that can appear in the dharmadhatu? If one acknowledges that from the perspective of the ground, which is distinguished into the three, ground, path, and result, it is also said in accordance with the way things appear, so there is nothing unfeasible. In the tantras of Dzogchen, it is said: I am without.

Prior to that, the ground exists in this way. The ground is called the Great Primordial. Its essence exists in the three forms of nature, compassion. The essence is the unchanging wisdom, appearing without interruption. It is called the abiding mode of the youthful vase body. Nature is the uninterrupted appearance of the five lights. The appearance of compassion is like a cloudless sky. Thus it is said. In the Refutation it is said: Essence is Primordial Wisdom. There is no name of existence called ignorance. There is no number of one and two. Through examination, there is no establishment of existence and non-existence. In any place, from the very nature of reality, even wisdom is not established. There are no words, no speech is established. Not abiding at the edge, self-awareness, the end of the name of clinging to speech. Without cause, without number of conditions, there is no duality of object and subject. There is no distinction of nature in any place. The coarse subject is exhausted. The meaning of what is said, such as this, should be understood as such. If it is so, since it is not permissible to admit the complete perfection of qualities from the ground, it is not appropriate to admit that the ground itself is the nature of the all-pervading fruit, the primordial Buddha. It can only be admitted that the ground is the Buddha of self-nature purity, if it is thought that it is not the attainment of the ultimate fruit of the two-fold purity, then, for such a primordial ground, without shaking, it is not admitted that the ground is sentient beings, and the fruit is Buddha, without difference. When there is no distinction between Buddha and sentient beings, who would say: This is the aggregate of the ground sentient beings, this is the path, this is the ultimate pure fruit? Therefore, when the ground appearance of the ground shakes, appearing as two, sentient beings and Buddha, the aggregates and sense bases of the ground sentient beings are also purified by the wisdom of self-nature purity emptiness, from the aggregates and sense bases that have been free from obscurations from the beginning. Although appearing as two, Buddha and sentient beings, abiding in the equality of samsara and nirvana is also established by the nature of the Great Equality. After establishing it in this way, from the perfection of habituation, when the two obscurations and their imprints are purified, when the part that obscures the nature of reality is exhausted, the samadhi wisdom of the Buddha who directly sees the nature of reality as it is will arise. Abiding in this samadhi, no matter how many phenomena there are, they will not go beyond this nature of reality.
