Since it is necessary to rely on it to correctly measure the meaning, it is generally indispensable for hearing and thinking. All those who seek the path through mundane reasoning, such as the five treatises, are completely bewildered by the realm of the mundane. Therefore, when such reasoning is used to expose the faults of mundane views, and when the experience of seeing the realms of the mundane and consciousness as clearly as the palm of one's hand is gained, the attachment to the ultimate meaning of the realm of wisdom will also naturally disappear. For the suchness that transcends all speculative realms, a pure and unconfused certainty will also naturally arise. As the Pramāṇavārttika says: "This is the explanation of the nature of the universally conventional valid cognition. This is also to prevent others from deceiving the world through ignorance. By familiarizing oneself with the wisdom arising from thought, one directly realizes the ultimate valid cognition, which is devoid of delusion, stainless, and irreversible." Also, as the Pramāṇasūtra says: "If one leads to the nature of reality through the path of speculation, then this is a great diminution of the Sugata's teaching. Even so, the characteristics of the Tathagata's Dharma, if they go astray, should be examined." Its meaning is: Since the profound nature of reality is not the realm of speculation, if one seeks the nature of reality only through the path of speculation, then one has distanced and diminished the Sugata's teaching. However, those who wrongly explain the Sugata's intention, which reveals the profound nature of reality, and those who badly interpret it otherwise, should be refuted based on this. As the Samadhiraja Sutra says: "What is a protector of the Dharma? It is to punish those who slander the Buddha's Dharma in a way that is in accordance with the Dharma." Just like that. Because all delusions arise solely from mundane speculation, it should be refuted by the reasoning of reality. Any path that goes against entering the meaning of the profound nature of reality is inherently contrary to the reasoning of reality, so refuting it with the reasoning of reality is like opening a path to the supreme wisdom that transcends speculation.
