Therefore, it transcends conditions and becomes self-arisen. If the aggregation of object, faculty, and consciousness arises due to the power of the previous, then the present consciousness merely becomes the image left by the previous object, and it will not focus on the object of its own time. Therefore, it must be admitted that it is with aspects. If that is the case, experiencing blue is not the essence of the mind, so how can the object itself be experienced? Those who accept the interdependence of cause and effect and uphold the teachings of Shakya should deeply contemplate this. If they merely boast about terms, they will not be able to comprehend the profound meaning of conventional interdependence. Third, although the object and the subject are non-dual, it is reasonable for them to appear as dual. If the object and subject are not different entities, then from the wise to the child, they appear as two, and they say, "My mind knows this thing in this way." Why do they say that the object and subject are different entities? Although in the ultimate truth, the aspects of the knowable object and the knowing subject are not established as different entities, for those whose eyes are deceived, just as hairs and double moons appear as different entities of object and subject in the face of consciousness, and they say, "I see such hairs," etc., similarly, when the object and subject appear as characteristics distinguished as two, this arises from the obscuration caused by the habits that have followed from beginningless time. Just as due to illusion, the object and subject are seen as different entities, only in the face of such appearance are the names of object as object and subject as subject established. At that time, for this different entity characteristic of object and subject, it should not be argued that "If it is non-dual, then it is not reasonable to appear as dual," and "If it appears as dual, then it is not reasonable to be non-dual," because the category of establishment is established from the reality and appearance, or from the truth and the non-truth, or from the ultimate truth and the conventional truth. Therefore, it should be understood that it is not contradictory to apply names to external forms and other things in the face of appearing as two, just as all phenomena are unborn, but it is not contradictory to apply birth and other terms in convention. Third, summarizing the established meaning, establishing the thing and its reasonableness. First, as explained above.

Therefore, since external objects cannot be established through valid cognition, because objects other than consciousness cannot be cognized by consciousness, self-cognition is considered to be the result of valid cognition. Second, the experience of consciousness is reasonable, while the experience of objects is not. To this, the unreasonable disputes should be eliminated. Therefore, the experience of consciousness itself is established. First, those who are attached to external objects say: If, as you believe, consciousness itself is experienced, then what fault is there if external objects are also experienced by consciousness? Since experiencing objects is obvious, yet you prevent saying that objects are not experienced, no additional merit will be gained. Experiencing objects and experiencing consciousness will become the same, therefore we admit experiencing objects. If the experience of objects by consciousness can be established by valid cognition, then there is no fault in experiencing objects. But we see fault in experiencing objects, and merit in experiencing consciousness, so we prevent saying that objects are not experienced. Even if there is fault, if it is established by the power of things themselves, then no one can refute it. However, if we follow the reasoning that arises from the power of things themselves, and analyze how consciousness experiences objects that are different from consciousness, then experiencing objects cannot be established. Consciousness itself is only experienced as the clear and knowing form of objects, which can be established by valid cognition, so we say this. Even if you admit experiencing objects, you can do as you please. However, merely with the phrase "external objects are experienced," you can only make a promise, but you cannot express any real meaning, which is what should be considered. When thinking in this way, if consciousness has no form and directly experiences objects, then consciousness has no form produced by objects, and objects and consciousness become different things, and there is no connection between the two, so saying "it knows it" should also say "it knows it in this way," just like drawing very beautiful pictures in the sky with various colors, merely saying that does not express any real meaning. Then, how do you experience consciousness? Consciousness is only experienced in the way that blue and other forms appear. This is established by one's own consciousness itself, and that kind of experience is not directly experiencing external objects.
