Even if the mind consciousness could apprehend happiness and so on in isolation, it is not possible for the mind consciousness to experience happiness and so on in isolation without the sense consciousness apprehending the objects such as form, which are the nature of the cause that produces happiness and so on. Secondly, there are two: the actual consequence and the establishment of the consequence. First, if it is said that it is impossible to experience happiness and so on without apprehending the object, because the object and happiness and so on are apprehended together. Then, what effect does happiness and so on have on the sense consciousness? Because you do not want the mind of the sense organ to be produced by happiness, because the sense organ is the object of the object, and happiness is the quality of the inner self, so it is impossible for them to exist together. Even if they exist, the sense organ will not apprehend it, just as the eye does not apprehend taste even though form and taste exist together. Secondly, there are two: experience without an object is unreasonable, and therefore one does not experience the happiness of the object. First, if it is said that the sense consciousness also wants to experience happiness, according to your view, since you do not admit that external objects such as form have happiness and so on, it is not the object of apprehension of the sense consciousness, and if the consciousnesses such as the eye experience happiness and so on, then the sense consciousness will become a purely deluded consciousness, like the consciousness of seeing two moons and tangled hair. Then, the consciousnesses such as the eye will never be able to apprehend the differences such as the beauty and ugliness of forms, sounds, and women, because they will not see the object as it is, but will apprehend it in various ways. The commentaries also say that if there are no objects such as form, and happiness and so on are apprehended in isolation, then the sense perception cannot determine whether form and so on are the basis of happiness. If it is said that it is not the case that there is no happiness and so on in the object of apprehension of the eye and so on, but that the quality of the inner self, happiness and so on, as a cause or part, has the nature of being able to produce consciousness, and exists in the object of apprehension of this sense consciousness, because the self is pervasive, so its qualities are also focused on it. If this is the case, the sense consciousness will become the object of the qualities of the inner self, so it will only apprehend the object that is always near, and will never see the external object, because its object of apprehension

Since these are inner qualities, one should not abandon one's own object of apprehension and cling to others. Secondly, because of suspecting that fault, the sense consciousness only apprehends the meaning, and does not apprehend pleasure, because that is not its meaning. If it is said like that, then the pleasure etc. that arises from the object form etc. will never be experienced. Because you think that while seeing the form, there is no mind experiencing inner pleasure, and the sense consciousness itself does not experience pleasure. If that is so, then no one can enjoy desirable qualities. Secondly, to show the faults in the view that sense consciousness and mind operate simultaneously. Divided into: stating the inference and preventing its answer. First, if it is said that because the object meaning and inner pleasure etc. exist, the two minds of sense consciousness and mind arise simultaneously, therefore while experiencing the object, it is impossible not to experience pleasure. Then, when the two meanings of agreeable and disagreeable exist simultaneously in the object, happiness and suffering etc. will be cognized simultaneously. Secondly, divided into: the opponent stating the answer, and preventing it itself. First, happiness and suffering etc. do not arise merely because the object exists, because the inner proximate cause - consciousness is also a cause, so if it exists, suffering etc. will arise. Moreover, that one consciousness that has become the proximate cause, when it becomes the proximate cause of happiness, it will not become the proximate cause of suffering. Therefore, if it is thought that it is not a contradictory proximate cause, then the fault of simultaneously focusing on happiness and suffering is not there. Secondly, divided into: stating the fault and refuting the excuse. First, if happiness etc. are consciousness, then that may be so, but according to your view, you do not think that happiness etc. are consciousness, therefore for what reason is it said that consciousness is not the proximate cause of not knowing happiness etc.? That is not reasonable. Secondly, because seeing that the fault cannot be avoided, if it is said that consciousness is not the proximate cause of happiness etc., but it will become the dominant condition. Then, the dominant cause is also seen as the cause of both contradictory results. For example, the light of the sun itself, for owls etc. that travel at night, and other than that, the senses of humans etc., sequentially as the dominant condition of seeing form and being inconsistent, that is, not seeing, and consistent, that is, seeing, operates simultaneously. Secondly, terminology
