If there is a time when crows and garudas jump together, is it possible to jump in an infinite way like that? If you ask that, it is not that the later jump becomes special compared to the previous jump because of habit, and thus increases infinitely. The cause of that jump is the strength of the body, and its own ability is definitely limited. Strength arises from the previous strength, and the subsequent effort to generate the later strength is also a dharma that depends on the body, so the ability is definite, that is, limited. Therefore, no matter how accustomed to jumping, it is of a definite nature, and it is impossible to jump infinitely. If it does not become special due to habit, then it should be able to jump from the beginning as in the later habitual state, but this is impossible, so it is obvious that it can be specially increased from effort. If it can be increased, why can't it be increased infinitely? The jumper who is accustomed to jumping cannot jump like the later habitual state even from the beginning, because the previous body has obstacles that are incompatible with the ability to jump, such as heavy elements such as phlegm, so the previous and subsequent bodies become different. By gradually eliminating those incompatibilities through effort, the jump will increase especially in the order of elimination, but when the incompatibilities are completely eliminated in the end, whatever strength the body has will be revealed, and it is impossible to increase beyond that, because the nature of strength itself remains limited, like the skills of the bodies of birds and monkeys. Second, if love and so on arise from seeds of their own kind, then they must have existed from beginningless time. If such seeds grow, why wouldn't all beings become very compassionate in nature? If not, then even if one becomes accustomed to countless three, etc., later, it will not become infinite, right? If you ask that, love is a dharma of the mind, so even if it arises from its own previous seed, if there is no obstacle to its growth, such as hatred, it will become its nature, but because there is an obstacle, even if it has a seed that has existed from beginningless time, it will not become infinitely increasing. Even so, it is not impossible for Bodhisattvas to increase infinitely, if hatred is a cause with its own seed, or a result of hatred, etc.

If the opposing factors of that love do not cause harm, then how will the nature of love, etc., manifest in the mind? If there is no such seed, then these are not the laws of the mind, the basis is not established, and it is impossible for love to arise in the mind. Even if you say that, it is not so. Even if it does not manifest for a while, since it is the mind, there is no reason why it cannot be generated, just like rakshasas and fierce beasts also love their children. Similarly, wisdom is also impossible to have a mind that is neither clear nor dark and without the seed of wisdom. Therefore, like this, the previous habituation and the previous mind's dharma, love, and, detachment and wisdom, etc., are the root or seed or cause of the manifestation of other later ones. Therefore, starting from that seed, habituate to grow more and more, without obstacles, when will it become the nature or nature of wisdom and love? For example, the Arhats whose minds have become the nature of detachment through the habituation of detachment, and the greedy ones who are habituated to greed, and the minds of those who are disgusted by the habituation of impurity. If that is the case, since all the seeds of love, hatred, etc., have existed equally since beginningless time, why would it become a state of only the nature of love? Afflictions are sudden, so there is a way to uproot their seeds. Love, etc., are not contradictory to truly knowing the true meaning, and moreover, they grow from this, so they are qualities that cannot be separated from the mind, and will be explained in detail below. Second, explaining the perfect application. From love arises the habituation of means. How is that means realized? It is taught to show the habituation of means itself. First, there is a possibility that the habituation of great compassion will increase, but how does it become the basis for proving the measurer of the one who teaches? That loving Bodhisattva, who is in the position of cause, in order to destroy the suffering of all other sentient beings, is manifestly engaged in the means of destroying suffering, that is, accepting it. How does one eliminate the suffering of others by manifesting the means oneself? First, the suffering that arises from the means oneself, the cessation of approaching peace, and, near peace.

If one does not know the nature of its causal path and it remains hidden, then it is difficult to explain these causes and effects to others accurately and without error, because it is impossible. Secondly, when such a seeker of methods analyzes with the power of reality, in accordance with the meaning of the authentic teachings that show the method, it is like this: because of the reason that the very nature of suffering sometimes arises and has differences such as increase and decrease, one realizes that suffering has a cause. And, because it is said that the cause is impermanent and so on, one also recognizes the nature of the cause's essence or characteristics, etc., through one's own analysis. If this suffering did not arise from a cause, then it would be absurd to be either permanent or non-existent, and it would be impossible to have differences of increase and decrease, but one understands in one's heart that this suffering has a cause. What is that cause like? Because a permanent cause cannot produce a result with various states, one is certain in one's heart that the cause is also of an impermanent nature. Such a cause is not a single common thing like time and power, but rather it abides in the differences of the individual mind-streams of the various beings who experience different things, and one thinks and analyzes that it is the previous continuous flow. In that continuous flow, the mind is the main thing, not something else, and because there is conceptual thought that grasps the mind as self, it accepts and creates various objects. Just as an iron needle moves because there is a magnet, the characteristics of the cause can also be accurately understood with the eye of wisdom that is accompanied by the light of authentic teachings. Because one wants to destroy suffering, one diligently thinks about and analyzes the cause of suffering in this way. If the cause remains unchanged, then one does not see or has not seen the result, and suffering will completely disappear. Thus, knowing that the cause can be destroyed, in order to destroy the cause of that suffering, one investigates what its incompatible aspect is, and one examines its antidote. At that time, in order to recognize the nature of the cause without error, that is, to understand, one investigates the incompatible aspect that is contrary to the cause.
