It must be limited and not related to others. For example, "Agni" refers to heat and burning, and is limited to that, not involving anything else. Therefore, one must clearly explain its nature, and if it is not related to the meaning, one cannot express it, because everything will become an expression of everything. If so, then these words must not express other meanings beyond their respective related objects, but that is not the case. For example, the sound of fire, etc., is also used as the name of other things or the name of people in other places, which clearly shows this, and there are other examples. The sound "Go" can refer to many things such as cows, heaven, and vajra, which is obvious. If a sound is indeed related to multiple meanings, then why can't one sound refer to multiple meanings? Having previously promised that the sound is limited to one meaning, now claiming that it is related to multiple meanings, this is clearly contradictory. Or, according to the translation of "may reveal contradictions," if the sound of the Vedas can refer to multiple meanings, then now claiming that this meaning is revealed in the Vedas, it may also point to other meanings. Therefore, insisting that the meaning is like this may also reveal contradictions with the meaning of the Vedas. If the sound of the Vedas can refer to multiple meanings, then even if you think that the meaning of the Vedas saying "to desire heaven, offer to fire" is to pour ghee into the fire, it may also mean "to desire heaven, eat dog meat." Therefore, those who think that the sounds of the Vedas, which are not made by humans, because they do not show which meaning should be sought, in order to prove that they have a true meaning, then all inferences made like this will become meaningless, because if such inferences are made to prove the true meaning, then it does not know what true meaning it shows. Furthermore, if you want a direct relationship between sound and meaning, then for those sounds expressed by the intention of human expression, and for external things that appear to be different in nature, if there is no inevitable connection, then in order to establish or prove this relationship, a reason must be stated, but this is impossible. Because for things that are different in nature, there is no single, same connection.

Even if that did not happen, the name, even if meaningless, depends only on the desire to express, and it has been proven to occur. Therefore, name and meaning are not essentially related, but are accidental connections made by people through thought. If so, if people do not agree well that the sound of these words refers to this meaning, then the sound of the Vedas will not show people any acceptance or rejection, so in any case it will become meaningless. In order to avoid such a fault, if it is admitted that the meaning of the Vedas is determined by people according to their respective wishes, then such an admission is actually like an elephant taking a bath, just as an elephant returns to the mud after taking a bath, because people admit that things that have not been done by humans are true, and then admit that true things are done by humans. Secondly, specifically, for the view that sound is eternal, essential association is unreasonable: is the association of sound and meaning impermanent or permanent? If it is the former, then does it follow the wishes of people or not? If it follows, then the essential association is unreasonable, and the meaning of the Vedas may also show other errors. If it does not follow, just as one cannot arbitrarily name mountains and other things as other things, if one cannot use one name for other things, then this is clearly denied. If it is said to be permanent, then the expressible things such as fire that are related to that name are all impermanent, so the association with the eternal sound of the expresser Vedas is also not permanent. Just as a lamp goes out and a pot breaks, the association on it will also disappear. If it is said that there is no object of association, but the association still exists, that is impossible, and if it is possible, then the son of a widow and a pot will also be associated. Therefore, the association of meaning and sound is accomplished through the wisdom of the actor (person), through the way of mixing name and meaning, but the meaning itself has no association. Furthermore, if this sound is related to the self-character of things, then the self-characters are all produced one after another, so how can newly produced things be related before that? Because there is no object of association. If it is said that the meaning is produced
