May all wandering Um Nris dissolve into me and the vase. As the external elements dissolve into the internal body, concealing, absorbing, and expanding life, meditate on oneself as being full of radiance, splendor, and glory. Afterwards, recite this essence that stabilizes life a hundred or twenty-one times: Hūṃ ṭra ṭra śag! Mutra ho! Tiṣṭha Lhan! If there is interest and time, one may also perform the rituals of summoning life and expelling others. Then, with this vajra word, expand immutably: Hūṃ! The essence is stable and does not decay; The life of Vajradhara is also life. When expanded, the three realms are full of radiance; When condensed, the body blazes with splendor; When bound, the vajra is a continuous chain; When stable, it is like an unchanging vajra. We are holders of the vajra vow; Grant the supreme life of body, speech, and mind; May we realize the meaning of supreme vajra life! Having said this, perform the expansion of viewing. By doing so, the signs of accomplishing life will appear in three ways: outer, inner, and secret. As outer signs, the mandala is blessed, sounds, smells, and lights appear, medicine and alcohol boil, nectar drips from the torma, in dreams: the sun and moon rise, dawn breaks, circumambulating stupas, planting many tsatsas, climbing up snow mountains and stupas, wearing white clothes, adorned with many ornaments and implements, wearing armor, obtaining auspicious objects such as the five hand symbols and treasures of jewels, crops, trees, and flowers flourish and are enjoyed, occupying a fine castle, crossing a great river, repairing roads, bridges, and houses, safely escaping from dangerous places such as defiles, raising flags, blowing conches, and playing music, sitting on a throne and gathering crowds, women offering nectar, wine, and milk, and various other auspicious signs; as inner signs, the body is spacious, comfortable, and warm, becoming youthful, full of radiance, the elements are not disturbed, and the body is balanced, the mind is calm, and experience increases, the samadhi of bliss and emptiness blazes, actually gathering those to be tamed and enjoyment, auspicious coincidences arise, and so on; as secret signs, seeing the deity assembly of Orgyen Amitayus, hearing voices, prophesying lifespan, and teaching the Dharma, and so on; the best is actual, the middle is experience, the lowest appears in dreams, gaining confidence in profound realization, loving-kindness and
