སྟེ། འདི་ལ་ཚིག་དྲིས་པས་ཐོན་ན་ཡ་མཚན་ནོ་སྙམ་དུ། ཁྱོད་མིའམ་ཤ་ཟ་ཅི་ཡིན་ལུས་འདི་སུས་བཅད། ག་ལས་འོང་ཞེས་དྲིས་པ་དང་། །ཚོར་བ་དྲག་པོས་ཉེན་བཞིན་དུ། །ཤི་བི་པ་ཁྱེད་མ་འཇིགས་ཤིག །བྲམ་ཟེ་ང་ཡིན་སྲིན་པོ་མིན། །སྔོན་གྱི་ལས་ཀྱི་ཉེས་པ་ཡིས། །གནས་སྐབས་འདི་འདྲ་ཐོབ་པར་གྱུར། །ཅེས་སོགས་ཚིགས་བཅད་སྨྲས་ཏེ། རིམ་གྱིས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ཕོ་བྲང་སྒོར་སོང་བ་དང་ཕ་རོལ་མང་པོ་དག་ཀྱང་མཚར་ནས་དེའི་རྗེས་སུ་འབྲངས་སོ། །ལྷ་ཀླུ་གནོད་སྦྱིན་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔལ་གྱི་སྡེ་ཉམ་ང་བར་འགྱུར་རོ་སྙམ་ནས་ཆོ་ངེ་འདེབས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་འཛམ་བུའི་གླིང་ཐམས་ཅད་འཁྲུགས་ཤིང་དུ་བས་མུན་པར་གྱུར་ལ་སྐར་མདའ་ལྟུང་བ་སོགས་སུ་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་བཙུན་མོ་རྒྱལ་བའི་འོད་ཁྱོ་དང་བྲལ་བས་གདུངས་ཤིང་ཟས་མི་ཟ་བ་ལ་དྲང་སྲོང་དེས་སྙིང་རྗེ་ཞིང་སླར་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔལ་གྱི་སྡེ་ལ་དབུལ་བར་བྱའོ་སྙམ་དུ་བཙུན་མོ་དེ་དབུགས་ཕྱུང་ཞིང་། འཛམ་བུའི་གླིང་འདི་ལྟར་འཁྲུགས་ཤིང་མུན་པས་ཁེབས་པ་འདིས་ན། རིང་མི་ཐོགས་པར་སྐྱེས་བུ་ཆེན་པོ་འགའ་ཞིག་འགག་པར་འགྱུར་རོ་ཞེས་ཀྱང་སྨྲས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་བྲམ་ཟེ་ལུས་ཕྱེད་པ་དེ་རྒྱལ་པོས་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་སྟེང་ནས་མཐོང་བ་དང་། བྲམ་ཟེ་དེས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལ་ལུས་ཕྱེད་བསླངས་སོ། །བློན་པོ་བློ་གྲོས་ཆེན་པོས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལ་འདི་ནི་མི་མིན་ཞིང་ཤ་ཟ་ཡིན་ཏེ། ལུས་ཕྱེད་བཅད་པ་ཇི་ལྟར་འཚོ་ཞིང་ཚིག་སྨྲ། བྲམ་ཟེས་སྨྲས་པ། ང་ཤ་ཟ་མ་ཡིན་གྱི་བྲམ་ཟེ་ཡིན་ཏེ། དབུལ་བས་བུ་དང་ཆུང་མ་བཞག་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔལ་གྱི་སྡེ་ལ་ནོར་སློང་བའི་བསམ་པས་འོང་ནས་ཉི་མ་ནུབ་སྟེ་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་གྱི་སྒོ་བཅད་པས་སླར་བསོད་ནམས་བྱེད་པའི་ཁང་པར་སོང་སྟེ་གཉིད་ལོག་པ་ན། སྟག་འོང་ནས་སོག་ལེ་ལྟ་བུའི་སོས་ལུས་ཕྱེད་བཅད་དོ། །དེར་བདག་ཚོར་བ་དྲག་པོས་ཉེན་ཀྱང་མི་དགེ་བའི་ལས་ཀྱིས་བཟུང་ནས་འཆི་བར་མ་ནུས་པ་ཤིན་ཏུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་བ་ན། ནམ་མཁའི་ལྷ་མོ་ཞིག་གིས་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔལ་གྱི་སྡེའི་ལུས་ཕྱེད་བསླངས་ན་ངེས་པར་སྟེར་ཞེས་ཐོས་པས་དེར་བདག་འཚོ་བར་རེ་བ་སྐྱེས་ཏེ་འཚོ་བ་བྱུང་ངོ་། །དེར་བདག་རོ་སྨད་མེད་པས་འགྲོ་ག་ལ་ནུས་སོ་སྙམ་དུ་ཡི་མུག་པ་དང་སྟེས་དབང་གིས་ཉི་མ་ཤར་བ་ན་གཉེན་འདི་བཞི་འོངས་ཏེ། བདག་ཉམ་ང་བར་མཐོང་ནས་ངུའོ། །བདག་གིས་འདི་རྣམས་དབུགས་དབྱུང་བའི་ཕྱིར་ལྷ་མོའི་ཚིག་རྒྱས་པར་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། འདི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བདག་ཁྲི་ལ་བསྐྱོན་ཏེ་འདིར་ཁྱེར་རོ། །ཞེས

于是，心想如果问他话能回答就奇怪了。问他：“你是人还是食肉鬼？这身体是谁砍的？从哪里来？”他一边忍受着剧烈的疼痛，一边说：“希毗王啊，你不要害怕。我是婆罗门，不是罗刹。因为以前的业的罪过，才得到这样的境况。”说了这些偈颂后，渐渐地到了国王的王宫门口，许多其他人也觉得奇怪，就跟在他后面。天、龙、夜叉等众，心想国王吉祥贤会变得可怜，就号啕大哭。那时，整个赡部洲都震动了，烟雾弥漫，变得黑暗，还出现了流星坠落等现象。那时，王妃胜光因为与丈夫分离而悲伤，不吃东西，那位仙人可怜她，心想应该再次向国王吉祥贤乞讨，就安慰那位王妃说：“因为赡部洲这样震动，被黑暗笼罩，不久之后，肯定会有一些伟人去世。”然后，国王从王宫上看到了那个身体只有一半的婆罗门，那个婆罗门向国王乞讨另一半身体。大臣大慧对国王说：“这不是人，而是食肉鬼，身体被砍了一半怎么还能活，还能说话？”婆罗门说： “我不是食肉鬼，而是婆罗门。因为贫穷，留下妻子儿女，心想向国王吉祥贤乞讨财物而来，太阳落山，城门关闭，就又回到行善的房子里睡觉。老虎来了，像剃刀一样锋利的爪子砍断了我一半的身体。当时我虽然忍受着剧烈的疼痛，但被不善的业抓住，无法死去，非常痛苦。这时，听到空中的天女说，如果向国王吉祥贤乞讨另一半身体，肯定会给。因此我对活下去产生了希望，才活了下来。当时我心想，我没有下半身，怎么能走呢，感到灰心丧气。碰巧太阳升起，这四个亲人来了，看到我可怜的样子，就哭了。为了安慰他们，我详细地说了天女的话，他们就用轿子抬着我到这里来了。”

Then, thinking it would be strange if he could answer when asked, they asked him, "Are you a human or a flesh-eating demon? Who cut this body? Where did you come from?" While enduring intense pain, he said, "King Shibi, do not be afraid. I am a Brahmin, not a Rakshasa. Due to the sins of past karma, I have obtained this situation." After saying these verses, he gradually went to the gate of the king's palace, and many others also found it strange and followed him. The assembly of gods, nagas, yakshas, and others, thinking that King Auspicious Virtue would become pitiful, wailed and cried. At that time, the entire Jambudvipa shook, and smoke filled the air, turning it dark, and shooting stars fell, and so on. At that time, the queen, Royal Light, was saddened by being separated from her husband and did not eat. That hermit pitied her and thought that he should beg King Auspicious Virtue again, so he comforted the queen, saying, "Because Jambudvipa is shaking like this and covered in darkness, it is certain that some great beings will pass away soon." Then, the king saw the Brahmin with only half a body from the top of the palace, and that Brahmin begged the king for the other half of his body. The minister Great Wisdom said to the king, "This is not a human, but a flesh-eating demon. How can he live and speak when half of his body has been cut off?" The Brahmin said: "I am not a flesh-eating demon, but a Brahmin. Because of poverty, I left my wife and children, intending to beg King Auspicious Virtue for wealth. As the sun set and the city gates closed, I returned to the house of merit and fell asleep. A tiger came and cut off half of my body with claws as sharp as razors. Although I was enduring intense pain at that time, I was seized by unwholesome karma and could not die, which was very painful. At that time, I heard a celestial goddess in the sky say that if I begged King Auspicious Virtue for the other half of my body, he would surely give it. Therefore, I developed hope for survival and survived. At that time, I thought, 'I have no lower body, how can I walk?' and felt discouraged. Coincidentally, the sun rose, and these four relatives came, saw my pitiful state, and cried. To comfort them, I explained the goddess's words in detail, and they carried me here on a palanquin."

等等，脸上满是泪水，也说了偈颂。之后，国王对婆罗门无所畏惧地安慰，承诺布施身体，于是派遣一个人去取锋利的刀。那人被帝释天的威力所迷惑，迅速地拿着刀来了。国王对大臣们说：“在婆罗门未死之前，迅速地将我的下半身砍下来布施给他。”听到这些，所有人都惊恐地哭泣。大臣智慧广大者哭着劝阻，说：“不要障碍无上菩提。”无法劝阻，智慧广大者昏厥倒地。之后，菩萨对两位木匠说：“善良的工匠们，为了圆满我的布施波罗蜜，请用这把刀砍我的身体，圆满婆罗门的愿望吧。”那两人哭泣着不愿动手，帝释天加持他们动手。之后，菩萨欢喜地完全施舍身体，刚从狮子座上下来，整个赡部洲的所有伞盖、旗帜、幡幢都朝向国王的宫殿，出现了种种征兆和哭泣的声音。之后，那位国王发愿证得无上菩提，一个人从背后支撑着他，双腿伸直，仰卧着，这时大地震动。妃嫔女人们听到后，哭泣着捶胸顿足，向国王祈求，但因为要与她们分离所有的痛苦，所以告诫她们要谨慎地行持善法，并对两位木匠说：“迅速地砍吧！”就像说的那样砍了。智慧广大者劝阻说：“如果你们杀了这样慈悲的伟大者，天人和龙等怎么会把你们留在这片土地上呢？你们这两个愚痴的人，这位伟大者不是像儿子一样养育了你们吗？”说着“唉呀，神啊！”抓住刀劝阻，菩萨对他说：“孩子，放下，不要悲伤。因为要分离所有的痛苦，不要障碍我布施身体。以前我布施身体时，天女们设置障碍，障碍了我获得无上菩提，也产生了她们的许多非福德。”

Etc., with his face full of tears, he also spoke verses. Then, the king reassured the Brahmin without fear and promised to give his body in charity, so he sent a man to fetch a sharp knife. That man, deluded by the power of Indra, quickly brought it. The king said to the ministers, "Before this Brahmin dies, quickly cut off my lower body and give it to him." Hearing this, everyone was frightened and wept. The minister, the wise one, weeping, tried to stop him, saying, "Do not obstruct the unsurpassed Bodhi." Unable to dissuade him, the wise one fainted and fell to the ground. Then, the Bodhisattva said to the two carpenters, "Good craftsmen, in order to help me perfect the perfection of giving, please cut my body with this knife and fulfill the Brahmin's wish." The two of them wept and were unwilling to do it, but Indra blessed them to do so. Then, the Bodhisattva, happy to give away his body completely, as soon as he descended from the lion throne, all the umbrellas, banners, and flags of the entire Jambudvipa bowed towards the king's palace, and various omens and sounds of weeping occurred. Then, that king made a vow to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, with one man supporting him from behind. As he stretched out his legs and lay on his back, the great earth shook. The consorts and women, hearing this, wept and beat their breasts, pleading with the king, but because all suffering was to be separated from them, he admonished them to be mindful of virtuous conduct, and said to the two carpenters, "Cut quickly!" As he said, they cut. The wise minister dissuaded them, saying, "If you kill this great being of loving-kindness, how will the gods and nagas allow you to remain on this earth? You two foolish people, has this great being not raised you like sons?" Saying "Alas, gods!" he seized the knife and tried to stop them, and the Bodhisattva said to him, "Child, stop, do not grieve. Because all suffering is to be separated, do not obstruct me from giving my body. In the past, when I gave my body, the goddesses created obstacles, hindering me from attaining unsurpassed Bodhi, and many non-meritorious deeds were generated for them."
