It was dug out. Looking there, he saw five copper pots full of gold and silver supported under that vase. The gambler saw the result of giving in this life, and his joy increased, and he spoke a verse: "How wonderful, all faults have been abandoned, The field of the essence of virtue. Now I have sown the seed, Now the fruit ripens immediately." After saying this, his wife asked, "Master, what are you thinking about that you say these words?" He explained this matter in detail. He saw the miracle of the desirable fruit of merit ripening in this life and was amazed. That story was passed from one person to another and spread throughout the royal palace and all its entourage. Many people were amazed. Then the gambler suddenly became rich and saw the fruit of merit with abundant wealth. He respectfully honored the Three Jewels with strong faith. Every day he made great offerings to the stupa of the Tathagata and also listened to the Dharma. The monks appointed by the Sangha were satisfied with delicious food every day. Ascetics and Brahmins, the poor, the sick, and other beggars were also satisfied with wealth as they wished. He had a large monastery built, filled with all kinds of equipment, and offered it to the Sangha of monks from the four directions, so his fame spread everywhere. Later, when the king died without a son, the ministers and villagers knew that the gambler had great merit and made him king. From then on, the name of the gambler disappeared and he became King Victorious. After that, King Victorious, believing in merit, constantly gave alms without interruption and relied on merit. He lived by upholding the precepts perfectly. The queen, ministers, the city, and all the villagers also fully engaged in merit. Later, when the king passed away and was born as the son of the King of the Paranirmitavasavartin gods, a rain of heavenly jewels and clothes fell from the sky, and the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin were greatly amazed. Thus, the gambler Victorious offered umbrellas and other things to the Dharma speaker.

Through the merit of that, in that very life, five treasures also arose, and he also obtained the power of kingship. Through the ripening of that karma, for thirty-six times, he obtained the power of kingship of the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin, and likewise for thirty-six times, the power of kingship of the Nirmanarati, and for thirty-six times, the power of kingship of the Tushita, and for thirty-six times, the power of the Yama, and for thirty-six times, the power of kingship of the Trayastrimsa, and for thirty-six times, he became the master of the power of kingship of the Four Great Kings. For hundreds of thousands of times, he became a Chakravartin king, victorious over the four quarters, endowed with Dharma, endowed with the seven precious things, including the wheel, brave and courageous, endowed with the supreme form of limbs, and endowed with a thousand sons who subdue enemies. That king pacified this great earth up to the ocean's edge completely with Dharma and equality, without fear of harm, without injury, punishment, or pursuit with weapons, and thus abided. The Blessed One said: "What is the cause of becoming the master of great self? Those Buddhas who benefit have spoken thus in the world. If these great miracles and wonders are heard, who among the wise and those born of noble families would not have faith? Therefore, those who desire good for themselves and desire great self here should remember the Buddha's teachings and make the sacred Dharma supreme." Thus he spoke. Furthermore, in a previous life, the Blessed One himself in this Jambudvipa was a Chakravartin king of power named Shri Sena, with an excellent form, remembering his births, a great king endowed with Dharma. Through his power, the trees and crops also ripened and the rain fell well. The noble queen of that king, named Jvala Prabha, was beautiful and pleasing to the eye, and was cherished by the king. That king in all of Jambudvipa
