Behold the distinction of wisdom in practicing the conduct of the departed Bodhisattva, and the placement of the virtuous seeds of the three good deeds. Likewise, after countless eons had passed, in an exceedingly superior manner, when the great eon called "Well-Arranged" occurred during a degenerate time, this Buddha-field transformed into a realm called "Victorious Sound," and became endowed with the five degenerations. On the eastern side, after passing fifty sets of four continents, in a Jambudvipa called "Joyful," I was born to fully ripen sentient beings, becoming a universal monarch, the sovereign of the four continents, named "Sky." There, I also caused sentient beings to uphold the ten virtues and the three vehicles, giving everything away and bestowing upon all. There, beggars came to me, requesting gold, sapphires, great beryl, and various other jewels, and they received such a great amount of jewels. At that time, I asked the ministers, "Where did these jewels come from?" They replied, "The dragon kings have revealed treasures, and because treasures have appeared in the world, these jewels have come into being. However, before the gods, they have only revealed a small amount, as much as was requested." At that time, I made the aspiration, "If I am to attain enlightenment in a realm endowed with the five degenerations, may this wish of mine be completely fulfilled. May I also take birth seven times as a dragon king who reveals treasures in each continent of this Buddha-field, and in each birth, may I reveal and bestow billions upon trillions of treasures filled with various jewels, treasures of gold and sapphires, etc., up to the water level, each treasure being a thousand yojanas in extent, and may treasures filled with many jewels appear, and may I show and bestow them upon sentient beings. Just as in this realm, in each of the ten directions of the world, which are full of the five degenerations, in each of the continents as numerous as the grains of sand in the Ganges River, may I likewise take seven births and reveal treasures, and after making this aspiration, the gods of the sky showered down flowers and bestowed upon me the words 'Well done,' your wish...

And the wish will surely be fulfilled. The gods, from the center of the sky, heard the multitude say that the king's name was named "All Giving." Having heard this, they thought, "We should beg him for the most difficult things to give away. If he gives them away, his name will be true to its meaning, and if he does not give them away, his name will not be true to its meaning." So they begged the king for his queen, sons, and daughters, and the king gave them all away with great joy. A Brahmin named Star Delight begged for the kingdom, and the king himself enthroned him, gave him the entire Jambudvipa, and made a vow to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, and prayed that this king whom I am now enthroning may also rule the entire Jambudvipa with words, be long-lived, and long possess the kingdom of a Chakravartin, and that when I attain Buddhahood, he may become my successor and be prophesied to attain perfect Bodhi. A Brahmin named Desire begged for his two feet, and the king himself cut them off with a sharp sword and gave them away with joy. A Brahmin named Guarding Sight begged for his two eyes, a Brahmin named Beautiful Sound begged for his two ears, a practitioner named Righteous Livelihood begged for his penis, and others begged for flesh and blood, which the king himself cut off and gave away, and made vows for Bodhi. A wandering milk-dropper begged for his two hands, and the king himself cut off his left hand with his right hand, and also had his right hand cut off, and after giving them away, he vowed to obtain the unsurpassed hand of faith. At that time, his body was covered in blood, and he vowed, "If I can attain the unsurpassed state through this giving, then I will surely find someone to take my body." At that time, the king, ministers, and beings of the kingdom of Kama became without compassion, behaved improperly, were confused in mind, and were of low intelligence. All his limbs were cut off, and he lost the power of the kingdom, and they said, "What is the use of this pile of flesh and blood now?" So they carried the king and threw him away in the cemetery outside the city. There, flesh flies and long-beaked flies sucked blood, and dogs, foxes, and vultures also gathered.
