Near a pond, when both were in danger due to hunger, another friend suggested stirring flour into water with a stick and drinking it. The ugly one poured a handful of flour he had obtained into the water and drank it himself. Udumbarika said, "Jojo, I am also suffering from hunger, please let me drink a little too." The ugly one said, "The ancient sages did not allow women to drink such water gruel." And he did not give it to her. Then, as it did not rain again, they were afflicted by hunger and abandoned the monastery. The two found some dog meat, which the ugly one roasted and ate. The girl asked for some, but he said the same as before and did not give it to her. The girl said, "A wretch like me is afflicted by hunger! What fault did my parents see in me that they gave me to such a person?" She said much to her parents, and the two walked together. Seeing a ripe Udumbara tree, the ugly one climbed up and ate. The girl said, "Don't eat alone, throw some down to the wretched one." He said, "I ate the ripe ones and threw down the unripe ones." She said, "Don't throw down the unripe ones to me, give me the ripe ones." He said, "Wicked woman, if you want the ripe ones, climb up here and eat them yourself!" So he said. Afflicted by hunger, she struggled to climb the tree and ate. The ugly one thought, "A person as unlucky as I am, what need is there to say about supporting such a wife? This one is not even worth looking at." Thinking this, he climbed down from the tree, surrounded the trunk with thorns, abandoned her, and left. At that time, King Vṛddha went hunting and heard the pitiful cries of a girl separated from her husband in that direction, so he searched for the source of the sound. He saw that the girl was as beautiful as a forest goddess and asked, "Are you a goddess, a yaksha, or a gandharva?" She replied, "I am not a goddess, etc., but a human, and separated from my family." The king helped her down from the tree and slept with her. Then, he put her on a chariot and took her away, enjoying pleasure together. The Brahmin regretted it on the way, thinking, "It was not good that I abandoned my wife in the monastery, I should go back and bring her back." So he turned back.

After he left, he disappeared, and he heard someone else say that the king had taken him away and made him a queen, and his heart was very sad. He went to the gate of the palace, but he could not enter. He saw many working people in the king's entourage, and he thought, 'I will carry stones with these people.' So he carried stones and entered the palace, and he saw his wife playing with the king. He thought, 'How should I talk to my wife?' So he said, 'The foundation is made of gold, arranged in eight parts, making people happy. Good girl, don't you like me? The carpenter started to carry stones.' The girl also replied, 'There I said that women should not eat meat. I also remember saying those words. Here, discard and place the udush. 'Etc., all kinds of verses, you sing back and forth. The Brahmin said again, 'Throw me from the top of the mountain, Brahmin woman, I will also eat poison. For your sorrow, I have come. The carpenter picked up the stone.' The girl said, 'Throw me from the top of the mountain, Brahmin, I will also eat poison. Don't want it when you want it, Udush took me home.' The two of them talked to each other like this, and the king was very happy when he heard it, and said, 'Goddess, I don't understand what you are saying, what is that?' She explained in detail the whole story, saying, 'This is my husband, my parents gave him to me, he is a wise Brahmin, proficient in all knowledge.' The king said, 'What should I do now? How can I make him happy? Are you going to go with him?' The girl said, 'How can he not love me, his mantra doesn't work, his mantra has no power, then he will love me.' The king told the minister about this, and the minister said, 'I will find a way to make him never separate from the king.' After saying that, he called the Brahmin and asked, 'What are you looking for? What are you doing in the palace?' He said, 'My wife was taken away by the king, and I came to find her.' The minister
