The cause of increase, such as the discipline of the ten perfections, is the basis for accumulating the ocean of merit. If it is not embraced by the mind of enlightenment, it cannot attain Buddhahood, so it is the basis for those accumulations. Second, the nature or state of the mind of enlightenment, which is free from elaboration and pure, is cultivated without error, and the difference in the qualities of its realization: When a wise person who has the ability to realize the realm of phenomena realizes the supreme essence of the mind of enlightenment in a non-dual way, then for him, among the three bodies of Dharma, Enjoyment, and Emanation, wisdom and activity become the basis of the two form bodies, etc., which is the supreme Dharma body, as the Victorious Ones said. Among all knowable objects, it is the only supreme knower, and its object is the most supreme of all knowable objects, so that object-possessor is also called the eye of wisdom, which is more excellent and unsurpassed than the eye of flesh, etc. It is indestructible and can cut off others, so it is a vajra, and it is the supreme of all, so it is also the supreme of the summit, and it is the basis of all wisdom, the non-discriminating wisdom, which is the mind of enlightenment itself. Third, in whatever collection of directions and times, all the qualities of the fruits of liberation from the noble ones, that is, the four assemblies of Hearers, Solitary Realizers, Bodhisattvas, and Buddhas, etc., are taught and explained as the Dharma, all of them arise from the perfect realization and completion of the mind of enlightenment. Even if one realizes the middle or the small, the qualities of their respective liberations arise only from the mind of enlightenment. Therefore, it is the basis of the fruit of liberation. Second, showing the greatness: Among all the lineages of Hearers, etc., the Great Vehicle lineage with great qualities of fruit is the great lineage of the noble ones, aiming at the great enlightenment of that permanently immortal state, and all the heroes who strive to accomplish it, if there is no mind of enlightenment, they will not arise, therefore, that mind of enlightenment is the supreme and unsurpassed path of liberation. Third general meaning, what should be realized: The illusion of ignorance that does not recognize the nature of the mind.

When all contaminated dharmas appear, and when the mind is focused on the unconditioned vajra of the mind's nature, the perfect fruits of liberation will appear. Therefore, the mind of enlightenment is of great significance and transcends thought and expression. Therefore, at all times and places, it is indestructible, and it cuts through the net of obscurations. Therefore, the bodhisattva or the mind of enlightenment that focuses on the unerring nature of the vajra mind, how should it be cultivated? If someone asks. Because the coarse mind cannot comprehend it, it is profound and subtle, and it is difficult to know through worldly paths. Only by entering the straight path and leading others into it, the great sage, that is, the path of the Buddha, this is not to think of it as a different place, not to cling to this as the object of focus, this as the object of discrimination, this is beyond both realms. No matter what kind of mind measures the object, it is difficult to examine it in the way of the object, it is difficult to show it to others as it is, the meaning is without elaboration, words cannot express it, so it is far from all the names of words. Words cannot express it as it is, and other than the Mahayana, the Shravakas and so on, and all ordinary people are not its realm, even so, it is not impossible to realize. The fourth common meaning, by what is it realized? Then by what is it realized? With the Teacher's non-definitive words, that is, the scriptural authority of the definitive meaning of the ultimate truth, and the experiential instructions of the unerring realization of the wise lamas, this is the means or meaning of establishing and realizing the mind of enlightenment without error, so it should be known or observed here, that is, the meaning of this. Here, the mistaken consciousness is not a valid cognition, here, direct perception, etc., that is, the cause or reason of inference, with this, all pure things are destroyed, and when discriminating on the edge of how existence or non-existence is established. Discrimination itself is to follow the stream of inverted discrimination, and to regard the object of experience seen in error by the mistaken consciousness as a valid cognition, and to destroy and discriminate with the mistaken consciousness. For example, mistaking a rope for a snake, and with the reason that I have seen it with my own eyes, why there is no snake, taking one's own confusion as a valid cognition, this is not acceptable as a valid cognition. Why? Therefore, the discriminating mind is the ultimate truth.
