Therefore, all distinctions of subject and object, etc., will collapse. Therefore, it must be understood that once something is truly existent in itself without parts, then the mind that focuses on it can only be unique, and it is impossible to have multiple minds. Regarding this, if extremely foolish people think that although the objects that appear to be known are different, the actual object is the same, that is also not acceptable. Because in the Vaibhashika school, objects are considered indivisible, which contradicts their tenets. Other eternalists may accept it that way, but since the creator of the appearance of external objects is unique, how can the appearing objects be different? It is impossible for them to be different. Furthermore, these people think, just as many minds focus on the same pot, what contradiction is there in having different minds but the same object? The so-called one pot refers to the appearance of a bulging shape, which is called a pot by the mind that distinguishes it from non-pots. It is merely the aggregation of many particles of self-characteristics that is called "one," but that is not a true one. If it were a true one, then many different minds could not focus on it, because this reasoning would hinder it, so it cannot be used as an example. In short, the appearance of focusing on one conditioned phenomenon with minds of different times and spaces is due to clinging to the aggregation of dust particles and moments, etc., as "one," and presuming to focus on it. And thinking that multiple minds focus on one unconditioned phenomenon is merely clinging to the part of non-existence that is cut off from the object to be negated, and there is no other object besides that. Although there is no existing thing, the other-emptiness consciousness that cuts off the existent thing establishes names such as unconditioned phenomena, and when that name is remembered, the objects of the mind seem to be the same, and one clings to it as truly existent. As the wise say, this reasoning is the most severe harm to the view that the nature of reality is constant, truly established, gradually purifies defilements, and takes prior and subsequent knowledge as objects. Even if it is the nature of reality, it is even more so than the constant truth, and this reasoning of the great abbot is very powerful. By means of the essential point of emptiness of essence, the body and wisdom of the Sugata, etc., are unsurpassed and infallible superiors within the category of knowable objects, and all the qualities mentioned above, such as entering into limitless time and direction, are not harmed by reason.

It is because it can be established. In this treatise, if the knowledge related to time, the sequential earlier and later, becomes an object, even if the unconditioned truth is refuted merely because one truth is not established, in reality, one should examine whether or not it becomes the object of all knowledge that depends on different directions and times, and then decide whether it is conditioned or unconditioned. Or, even if one says it is not those two, in reality, one is refuting everything that is knowable and truly established. In that case, in any direction or time, it is impossible for everything that exists as "one" to have one truth. It is merely a designation of "one" on many dharmas. Just as one cuts off what is not knowable and establishes it as "knowable," similarly, the non-existent that cuts off the existent, the existent that cuts off the non-existent, and so on. In short, it is a sound that cuts off what is not oneself, and although it is established as "one" by conceptual thought, each "one" has many internal divisions, and each division is also designated as "one." Ultimately, between the particles of matter and consciousness and the indivisible moments, there are many distinctions, and one cannot find a single one. Even the two indivisible parts, as long as they are not separated from the object of focus, cannot be established as solely true. Therefore, when examining everything that is established as "one," apart from nominal designation, one cannot establish a single truth. Therefore, just as saying, "The object of the previous knowledge is also this, and the object of the later knowledge is also this," it is merely a designation of "one" on many momentary dharmas. Just as saying, "This that you see, I also see this," grasping the object of knowledge of different directions as one at the same time is merely a designation of "one" on the many dharmas that are the basis of designation of that object. In short, whatever is the object of knowledge of direction and time, there cannot be one truth. Then, do you think that non-things have no parts to divide? In general, non-things have distinctions such as the absence of a pot and the absolute absence. In particular, even for the absence of a pot, there are as many as the number of things, such as the absence of a golden pot. It is merely that the mind grasps a part that is merely cutting off its respective object of negation. Therefore, just like the object that appears in the mind, there is not even a little that exists independently outside of it. Therefore, whatever dharmas of things and non-things become objects of different knowledge, that object cannot be established as true, or cannot be established as the nature of one.
