The establishment of various deluded appearances, tainted by the misconception that liberation is attained through Brahma, Ishvara, the self, and the practice of contemplating the self. However, the Victorious, Perfectly Complete Buddha taught that all phenomena, both internal and external, appear due to the power of arising dependently on causes and conditions. Thus, the cause of the impure world of vessel and contents is said to be karma and afflictions. The method to reverse this is the path of cessation of existence. Such a teaching is the great path unknown to Brahma and others, the unprecedented wheel of Dharma. What is this profound dependent origination? Its essence is condensed and expressed in Sanskrit as: ye dharmā hetuprabhavā hetusteṣāṃ tathāgato hyavadat, teṣāṃ ca yo nirodha evaṃ vādī mahāśramaṇaḥ. Translated into Tibetan, this becomes: All phenomena arise from causes; the Tathagata has declared these causes; and whatever is the cessation of these causes, this the Great Ascetic has proclaimed. This verse is gathered here. That is, all phenomena do not arise without cause or from inherent nature, but from their respective causes and conditions in dependence. Such causes are not made by time or Ishvara, as the outsiders claim, but arise from causes such as 'this being, that arises; this not being, that does not arise.' Thus, the Tathagata taught this sutra of dependent origination. By what is the cause of affliction reversed? Or, the unerring path shown as the method to cease it, and the path that attains the result of cessation, the state of Nirvana, is proclaimed only by the Great Ascetic, the Buddha, the Bhagavan. In this world, including the gods, there is no one who speaks of such a path. Therefore, to explain the meaning of such dependent origination, there are six aspects: 1. Identifying the nature of the twelve links of dependent origination; 2. Explaining how they are condensed into three; 3. Revealing the meaning of how they arise in dependence; 4. Explaining the meaning of dependent origination as emptiness; 5. Proving it with examples; 6. Instructing that liberation is attained by seeing the reality of dependent origination, which is free from the two extremes. First, it is taught from the perspective of individual branches.

is shown by. That is, from the point of view of the cause and effect of all afflictions, the twelve branches that can become more or less marginal and distinct are declared by the Buddha, the Bhagavan, because they arise in dependence on each other, so those are said to be the meaning of dependent origination. Like this, because this exists, that arises, what is it? That is, with ignorance as the condition, there are actions and so on. That is, for the stainless reality of all dharmas, the opposite of touching as it is, that is called ignorance, that is, unreal pervasiveness. Starting from that (ignorance), clinging to self and others, thereby manifestly creating actions such as attachment and aversion, is called action. That actor produces the agent of taking birth in where - consciousness. From this, as a result, after taking birth in where, consciousness together with its retinue, is said to be name and the other aggregates - form. Like that, whatever the stage of accomplishment, that is called name and form. Starting from that name and form, the five faculties of the eye and so on, and the mind, the stage of accomplishment of the six sense spheres, that is called the six sense spheres. The stage where the six sense spheres are manifestly combined with their own six objects, that is called contact, that is, the meaning of the meeting of inner and outer objects and object-holders. When they meet, whatever mental phenomena arise from that - feeling, arises, that is called feeling. When that feeling arises, it is not that one does not think of anything, but in the manner of abandoning and taking and dominating, the stage of clinging to it, that is called craving. Not only staying at craving, but accepting it, or truly entering into it, that is called grasping. Like this, in the stage of having already taken in one's own continuum, because it has become the cause of accomplishing the result, that accumulated action is called existence, because it is the action of accomplishing later existence. That action makes existence manifest, that is called birth, because the result of the action is accomplished. Like that, birth has been accomplished, because it is a conditioned dharma, so the two of aging that changes and death that ultimately perishes are established. Those two actually show that birth is impermanent, because they are similar, so they are placed in one branch. Like that, afflictions accumulate actions, and any birth that is thrown by actions
