Secondly, it is just a way of understanding. The second part is divided into: explanations of words that are actually used in common; explanations of words that are led by desire. The first part, like the first (of) ball, etc. A word has multiple meanings, for example, peeling bark will die, etc. Although the words are established, the meanings expressed in combination are different. For example, milk died and animal died, the two words have the same pronunciation, but the first is rotten and the second is the cessation of vitality, etc. Similarly, according to the way of use, there are two ways of use: actual and assumed. For example, like rabbits and silver, the word moon is used. All reasonable assumptions are similar to this, or expressed from mutually related reasons. The difference between actual and assumed can also be called arbitrary and subsequent. For the actual and assumed use, there are also those that cannot be explained, such as assuming ordinary people to be Buddhas, etc.; there are also those that can be explained. Even if it can be explained, but if it is not used, because it is unknown, it is not a name. Even if this name can be used to explain other things, but because it is widely known in the world, it is used for other meanings itself. To prevent this, each meaning has a definite expression, for example, it is determined that "having hands" is only the name of an elephant, and "having walking" is only the name of a horse. Therefore, actual names have two types: arbitrary and subsequent. The latter is like Buddha, etc. Assumption also has two types: arbitrary and subsequent. The former is like assuming ordinary people to be Buddhas. The latter is like calling the Buddha "Hundred Days". In any case, the root of all names is arbitrary, which can be assumed to other things, or the two can be combined to explain oneself. The ultimate root of the first name is the inexplicable arbitrary, and the explainable one established on this basis is subsequent, or reliable Scriptures. Arbitrary can be used to explain gods, etc., like Buddha. A reasonable name assumed to other things, even if it is arbitrary, can be explained, such as Brahmin (referring to) the sun. Those without reason cannot be explained, for example, depending on the assumed object, such as person, Buddha, golden color, etc. Therefore, these names are combined by intention to express meaning, and it should be known that they have no entity. A reasonable assumption, such as being born in the season when flowers bloom, is called flower blooming, etc. Like the mouth of a bottle, it is subsequent and needs to be considered.

In a place unfamiliar with the terms of Buddha etc., those terms might also become arbitrary. What is arbitrary to oneself might become like a subsequent establishment to other terms. Although the name itself is subsequently established, it is arbitrary relative to the object it refers to, and conversely, the real name of the sun is arbitrary, and Brahman might become a subsequently established name. So, how to combine intentional and subsequent terms? How to set the definition? Only after thoroughly understanding the scriptures can one investigate. If a real name can be explained with reason, then naming from lineage, action, quality, substance in order, such as: son of a Brahman, Bodhisattva, dependent arising, one with wealth, etc. Naming according to one's own essence, such as Devadatta etc. Lineage is the basis for the application of terms, quality is its ability, action word is its action on the object, substance is what it relies on, and essence is different. Quality is what relies on it, and essence is the same. All names are included in these categories. Collection generality and lineage generality are two distinctions of lineage names. Second, there are: brief explanation, detailed explanation, and three ways of answering. First, connecting one sound with different meanings according to one's own intention, one is to grasp the way of pausing words, and two is to lead that name to whatever meaning one desires, merely by intention rather than reason. Second, there are: grasping the way of pausing, and two ways of changing through thinking. First, for example: the valid cognition that cognizes the existence of knowable is the knowledge that cognizes the existence of things. Second, for example: there is no fault for all beings or there is fault, and so on. Here, knowable is the subject, and the valid cognition that cognizes the existence of knowable is the knowledge that cognizes the existence of things as the subject, these two. In the first, it is not established that knowable is knowledge. Even if not, if knowable exists universally, then if one admits that the valid cognition that cognizes the existence of knowable is the knowledge that cognizes the existence of things, then one should ask what cognizes things? If it is not reflexive, universally speaking if it is said to be knowable, then it is not a thing, not permanent. If all are connected, then the subject will not exist. Or, if one says that among the existence and non-existence of knowable, the valid cognition that cognizes the existence of a pot etc. is the knowledge that cognizes things from both things and non-things, then it is like there is no harm. If all are connected, then it is like a separate calculation etc. in debate. Because there is no subject etc. to valid cognition.
