It is also unreasonable to say that it is not impermanent because it is permanent. The third part is divided into a general indication and a specific explanation. First, for this kind of common statement, either distinguish what the debater's intention is, or say "I have such an intention for this," and respond with a differentiated answer. The second part is divided into answering according to the meaning by determining the meaning, and answering according to one's own wishes without determining the meaning. First, no matter what the sound is, if it is not taken as a special quality, but only as a dharma with qualities, then it is a universal negation. Whichever dharma it is associated with, it holds the position of that dharma, just like omniscience and the eight occasions are called omniscience. The application of the sound of the name is also universal, but the application is more important than the explanation, just like a flower that grows from a mountain, even if it does not grow from water, is called aquatic, and a fish in water, even if it grows from water, is not called aquatic. Therefore, it should also be said that it is named according to the intention of the explanation. However, the meaning of each application that arises from fame must be determined based on whether it is the object of thought in the occasion. For example, just as various suffixes are added to determine that meaning, the meaning of the occasion is also the same, expressed to determine the meaning. For example, just as the sound of "Sendhava" refers to swords and the like on the battlefield, what this name expresses is undoubtedly determined by the occasion of what the meaning of the debater's treatise is. If it is not like this, but only follows the words, then the language expressing the self-characteristics of place, time, and specificity will not be possible, and if the meaning is not understood, that is impossible, so all terms will be interrupted. Second, if the occasion is not distinguished, if there are no three things that contradict one's own commitments, the reasoning of the power of facts, and the harm of treatises and worldly fame, then it is okay to combine according to one's own wishes. Because the reason can be guided arbitrarily, the self-will of the current intention is distinguished from the language, and for that meaning itself, if others understand it with other meanings, it will not refute the other party. Why? Even if the intentions contradict each other, it is okay, because there is no reasoning with the power of facts between each other, so it is not an antidote.

O! When expressing meaning through names by distinguishing through meaning, it cannot be refuted by another statement, such as saying "fire is cold." If language is used to identify the object to be expressed by way of excluding what it is not, then when that meaning is understood through language, just as seeing the moon pointed out by a finger, the function of language is completed and the meaning is accomplished. If one still does not rely on meaning but only chases after words, then please show the language that expresses self-nature, or establish terms merely through one's own will. Even if one sees something very amazing, it is like searching for the footprints of a cow in the forest, which is also considered an amazing thing. Third, the summary of meaning. In short, all language used has the function of distinguishing meaning, and this distinction is rooted in the intention to express. It is this intention that allows various terms to be recognized as distinct and without doubt. Third, the act of completing the work includes: the necessity of writing, and the dedication of merit. First part: In this cool place (referring to Tibet), there are many people wearing yellow robes, who engage in misleading debates with sharp intellect. Those statements that confuse new scholars, even older scholastic scholars are learning to follow the excellent works of others' statements. Even if those who boast of themselves as wise with such statements are pleased, we will not follow such statements like an echo. Due to the kindness of Manjushri Guru, we will not, like the heretical Samkhya school, expect accidental, meaningless words, but open bright eyes that have the realm of correct meaning. If one can understand well this slightly expressed part, then the tongue of speech, like a lotus freed from mud, new learners will be far from the darkness, defilement, and faults of what was said before. Second part: May all beings, through this merit, in all realms of words and meanings, obtain the power of immaculate wisdom, and like Manjushri Kumara, may they speak all Dharmas without obstruction. Third part, author's signature: This was written by Mipham. Auspicious! The outline and handwritten notes personally written by the venerable Guru Rinpoche Jamyang Mipham Gyatso were completely copied in Shechen in the Iron Monkey year, without additions or deletions, and arranged in order, may it be virtuous! Sarva Mangalam! The axe that distinguishes symbols and cuts through the net of doubt.
