Therefore, whatever is to be cognized by each of the sense consciousnesses individually, that whose nature cannot be expressed by the terminology of sound and concept, that is the self-characterized object that has become the sphere of the senses. However, mind is non-conceptual because it focuses on the self-characterized external object, and phenomena such as attachment, hatred, and happiness are present. Self-awareness that does not rely on the senses is also a consciousness that is a non-conceptual apprehender of self-characteristics. Among all the activities of a yogi who possesses samadhi, the most important is that, through the wisdom that has entered into the state of selflessness, merely seeing the meaning of the Four Noble Truths as taught by the Buddha, without mixing with the concepts of sound universals and meaning universals, is yogic direct perception. There, yoga is single-pointed meditation. The term "etc." refers to worldly samadhis, exceeding the immeasurable of both the cessation of form and suppression. As it is said in the Mother of the Buddhas, "Among all the activities of yogis, the yoga of the Perfection of Wisdom is the most excellent, the most supreme, the unsurpassed." Thus, by measuring the ultimate state of affairs, there is nothing beyond it. This symbolizes all that is non-deceptive. If attachment and so forth are self-aware direct perception, then would concepts also become that? Yes, it is so, because concepts are also considered to be self-aware direct perception in their own nature. Relative to the object of conception, it is not non-conceptual, because it conceptualizes that object by mixing with sound. For example, illusions such as perceiving water in a mirage, and the knowledge that aggregates the eight particles of a vase, relying on symbols to think it is a vase, etc., all these knowledges that apprehend conventional truths dependent on symbols, and the apprehension of the sign that demonstrates what is to be inferred by this, and the concept that arises from inference, which is the dependent mind, that is actual inference. Memory of past events and the desire for future events, these six illusions are like appearances of conceptual direct perception. The reason for mentioning these is that the first two rely on the senses and the mental faculty, in order to eliminate the error of logicians mistaking them for sense consciousnesses. As an analogy to that, the four knowledges with hidden meanings are mentioned. These four are divided according to whether or not they rely on a sign of reasoning.

Oh! The confusion of inner and outer is the manifestation of the afflicted support faculty of sense, like the vision of those with cataracts, etc. The valid cognition, in order to understand the object to be measured with the activity of understanding the meaning, from the aspect of the activity itself, is the result, and for the knower or measurer, from the aspect of the agent, it is named as valid cognition for synonyms. Sometimes it can be the result of measurement, because for understanding its own object to be measured, it is not without other meanings besides the agent. Or the absence of activity, encountering the senses, etc., is not valid cognition, because there is an interval with the activity. Therefore, it is said that the difference between measure and result can never exist. I wonder if that is what the words mean. Or if one examines well, experiencing self-awareness is the result, even if one admits the meaning, the reason why self-awareness must be the result is that the mind cannot be without aspects, but must be with aspects. The self-awareness experienced by the apprehended aspect and the apprehender aspect, from its essence, cannot be determined to be other than the determination of meaning. Its continuum, the determination of meaning by self-awareness, is also like this, whether one wants it or not, it is established that the meaning is known through experience. If neither of the two has experience, then it is impossible to experience the meaning at all, and if one experiences the naked meaning, then it will lead to the meaning becoming diverse. Even so, the appearance or aspect of the object blue, etc., is the apprehended aspect, which is the blue, etc., outside here. The object-possessor is valid cognition, because the apprehender of blue measures it with it. Even so, the measure-result and the object are not different entities, because although it appears to apprehend the meaning, it does not go beyond one's own experience. It is said: When the appearance is the apprehended aspect, that is the object to be measured, and the valid cognition and its result. 2. The apprehender and 3. The appearance, that is the aspect consciousness, because of that reason. The three are actually the nature of one wisdom, because they are inseparable, so do not make them different entities, do not make them other, but think of them as one. For the three aspects of one wisdom, the apprehended, the apprehender, and the self-awareness, establish the three measures, results, and objects to be measured. Do not make the three measures, results, and objects to be measured different entities, because the three are inseparable in meaning, that is, the nature of wisdom is inseparable. To establish that, the object blue, etc., is the apprehended aspect of wisdom, and the apprehended aspect is of wisdom. Because there is a difference in the apprehender aspect, it is established that there are two ways of wisdom. First, to establish the two ways of wisdom through experience, the object exists, the object is desired.
