Secondly, the land at the bottom of the sea is located on Mount Sumeru. So it is said. Thokme included them among the gods, and Yönten Ö included them among the gods and pretas. Some consider there to be six realms. Gandharvas are intermediate beings, and those who play music for the gods. The former are not included among sentient beings, and the latter are gods. Urn-bellies and decaying bodies mostly belong to pretas, but some also belong to gods. Nagas, garudas, humans or what, and large belly-crawlers belong to animals. Flesh-eaters, madmen, forgetful mothers, and flesh-eaters in cemeteries belong to pretas. Rakshasas are a type of human. Harm-givers, directional guardians, world guardians, and demons mostly belong to gods, nagas, and pretas. Secondly, regarding the special dharmas, there are differences in the seven abodes of consciousness, differences in the nine abodes of sentient beings, differences in the four abodes of consciousness, and debates about whether they are four or seven. First, in these five realms and three worlds, the seven abodes of consciousness are explained. The first, where body and consciousness are different, are humans, desire realm gods, and those born later in the first dhyana, because the body's color, shape, and consciousness's pleasure, pain, and equanimity are different. The second, where bodies are different but consciousness is the same, are the first beings born in the Brahma realm, whose bodies are different in size, color, etc., but whose consciousness is the same, thinking, "We are born of Brahma, and these are all born from my will." If they say, "The upper realm is invisible," it is because they remember their own realm's innate state. The third, conversely, where the body is the same but consciousness is different, are the gods of clear light, whose bodies are similar in light, shape, etc., but whose thoughts are that when one's pleasure and the two states of closeness become weary, the other manifests. The third is dissimilar because pleasure is not shaken by tranquility. The Sutra masters believe that differences in the wise and foolish regarding the formation, duration, destruction, and emptiness of the world, and whether or not one is afraid when the vessel is destroyed, cause differences in consciousness. The fourth, where body and consciousness are the same, are the gods of increasing virtue, whose bodies are the same as the previous one, and whose consciousness is that, first, their afflicted consciousness is the same, and second, their virtuous consciousness is different, and here, because it corresponds to the pleasure born of maturation, the consciousness is the same. The above two cases also imply the following two cases. The non-material, the formless first three

In summary, these are the abodes of consciousness. Because in these seven places, consciousness relies and grows in the manner of craving. The remaining three evil destinies, the fourth dhyana, and the peak of existence all possess the ability to destroy consciousness. In the evil destinies, suffering destroys consciousness; in the fourth dhyana, the non-percipient and his absorption; at the peak of existence, cessation destroys consciousness. Furthermore, they do not wish to dwell in the evil destinies, but wish to ascend higher; in the fourth dhyana, ordinary beings are non-percipient, and noble beings are in the Pure Abodes; the Pure Abodes wish to enter Nirvana, so these are not (the abodes of consciousness). Because they want to seek other abodes, and do not wish to dwell there but wish to go elsewhere. It is said that the movement of the mind at the peak of existence is not clear. Second, also those seven places, the peak of existence, and the non-percipient beings, these nine places are said to be the nine abodes of sentient beings. If the non-percipient is also an abode of sentient beings, what need is there to say more? It is said that the fourth dhyana is also included. Dunsang said that apart from the non-percipient, the other fourth dhyanas are not abodes, because they wish to ascend higher. It is said that the beings in the evil destinies are seized by karma and forced to dwell, so apart from the previous nine places, the other beings in the evil destinies are not abodes of sentient beings. That is what is said. One's own view is that the fourth dhyana is an abode, because it is a place where the mind can dwell. The evil destinies are because of their respective karmas, unwillingly dwelling there, so although they are not abodes, they are seized by karma. I think that is what is said. Third, there are also four other abodes, namely the contaminated form aggregate, feeling aggregate, perception aggregate, and mental formation aggregate. The sutra says, "Consciousness abides in form, tending towards form," and so on. This is only one's own ground, not other grounds and uncontaminated, because other grounds are not suitable as the support of consciousness of other grounds, and the uncontaminated is the antidote to consciousness. Consciousness itself is the dweller, so it is not said to be an abode. Fourth, if summarized, there are four possibilities: included by the seven but not included by the four are the consciousnesses belonging to the seven abodes. Included by the four but not included by the seven are the contaminated fourth dhyana and the aggregates other than the consciousness of the peak of existence. Both are the abode of consciousness
