It is said to be expressed by various names such as the supreme of sentient beings. Secondly, from the perspective of realizing the cause and effect of enlightenment, the qualities praised in accordance with the meaning of the word Bodhisattva have two aspects: the main text and its divisions. First, it is explained in five verses: realizing the absence of self in phenomena and persons, therefore it is good to realize; realizing the accomplishment of great benefit for oneself and others, therefore it is good to realize great benefit; comprehending all knowable meanings encompassed by conditioned and unconditioned, contaminated and uncontaminated; occasionally realizing, but not becoming exhausted at any time, in the realm of the unconditioned aggregates, wisdom is also inexhaustible, therefore it is constantly and always realized; in order to tame the trainable, showing what kind of manifestation and what kind of Dharma, etc., realizing all the boundless means of taming, it is called Bodhisattva because of the reason that it is distinguished by these five qualities. Enlightenment) means to understand, and Sattva Sentient being) means to have mind, praising the qualities that are in accordance with the meaning of thinking about what and understanding what, this is a general explanation. Furthermore, there are four categories of realization: mind, intellect, and consciousness. Among the three, mind is the all-seed Alaya-consciousness, from which arise the place, vessel, and object of meaning, as well as all the appearances of the body. Knowing or realizing that is called following-self realization, so-called self, there is no other entity, it is just the momentary continuous Alaya-consciousness of one's own continuum, which is observed inwardly by the afflicted mind and clung to as self. Intellect means afflicted mind, it clings to the Alaya-consciousness and grasps it as self, possessing the five ever-present mental factors, as well as the four: self-view, self-attachment, self-ignorance, and self-conceit. It pervades all states of mind, whether virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral. Such unobscured neutrality, realizing it as it is, is called realizing subtle views, because the view of the aggregates of fear is the cause of evil views and all afflictions, therefore it is to recognize the subtle root of views. Discriminating various cognitions means knowing the nature of the six aggregates of consciousness.

, namely, the six from eye consciousness to mind consciousness, which arise from the three: root, object, and intention, take the six objects such as form as their objects. Together with the accompanying mental factors, they possess the three: virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, as well as various feelings as appropriate. Knowing their nature is called the various discriminations of consciousness. Thus, all of these eight aggregates of consciousness, although there is no duality of grasper and grasped, they apprehend as grasper and grasped. Knowing that this non-real discrimination is merely the nature of other-powered, like illusion and dream, for these four reasons, it is called a Bodhisattva. This is the way to understand the appearance of conventional truth. To separately understand the non-discriminating wisdom that worldly people have not previously understood, which is without an object of focus, like the sky, is to understand what has not been understood. To separately understand that all phenomena are equal to illusion, etc., through the wisdom attained after, is to understand the subsequent understanding. Alternatively, to understand what has not been understood is to understand the way of arising in accordance with ignorance, etc. If ignorance ceases, then actions cease, etc., to understand the way of cessation of dependent origination is called separately understanding the subsequent understanding. To understand that there is no object of self-characterization is to separately understand that there is no object. To understand that all that appears as grasper and grasped arises through the momentary nature of other-powered is to separately understand arising. To understand the two emptinesses of the nature of reality, the perfectly established, which ordinary individuals have not previously known, is called separately understanding what has not been known or understood. Thus, for the reason of separately understanding these five meanings, it is called a Bodhisattva. This is also from the perspective of understanding the two truths. Furthermore, five other aspects of understanding the two truths are: From the other-powered consciousness, all that appears as the grasper and grasped of the three realms arises, and although one constantly experiences suffering by clinging to it, to understand that the grasper and grasped are not established in meaning is to understand that there is no meaning. To understand the perfectly established nature of the two emptinesses is to understand ultimate truth. To understand that all that appears as two is merely conceptual imputation is to
