The Bodhisattva's non-weariness is, unlike the non-weariness of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, it is unparalleled. What is not weary of? There are three bases or things that are not weary of, that is, not being satisfied with hearing the excellent Dharma from a virtuous friend, this is not being weary of hearing the Dharma, or not being weary of completely seeking the Dharma. In countless three great kalpas, like generating fire from rubbing wood, initiating great diligence, this is not being weary of the object of diligence. Not being weary of willingly enduring various kinds of suffering for the sake of sentient beings, this is not being weary of the object of suffering. These explain the three objects or realms of non-weariness. The cause or source or basis of non-weariness is, relying on the above-mentioned shame and steadfastness, non-weariness arises. The nature or essence of non-weariness is, having an extremely strong desire for great Bodhi, that is the reason. Differentiating non-weariness by this reason, the non-weariness of the wise, in terms of the stages of the path, is like this: in the stage where the mind of equality between oneself and others has not yet been obtained, weariness sometimes arises, therefore it is non-weariness that is not yet complete. In the seventh bhūmi, weariness never arises, therefore it is completely perfect. In the three pure bhūmis, it is effortlessly and spontaneously extremely perfect, therefore it is considered to have three distinctions. Fourth, knowing the treatises is, the steadfast Bodhisattva's knowing of the treatises refers to knowing the five sciences, which is also called learning. The five sciences are as previously stated, namely inner science, and Tarkā or logic, which is epistemology, that is, the science of cause or proof. There are also grammar or linguistics, craftsmanship, and medicine, these five, listening well from virtuous friends, Khenpos, and wise people, and gaining certainty by thinking about the meaning, and then also explaining it to others, because all knowable things are contained within the five sciences. If Bodhisattvas are proficient in all that is knowable, it is because they desire omniscience, therefore they enter into knowing the treatises. Merely knowing the five sciences, worldly people and Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas also have, but, in six ways such as the basis, Bodhisattvas
