Treating others with loving-kindness also becomes an offering to the Tathagata. Enduring sufferings such as heat, cold, hunger, thirst, fatigue, etc., for the sake of one's own and all sentient beings' maturation, is also an offering to the Tathagata. Correctly practicing the six perfections is offering to the Buddha. The basis of proper attention is to have unwavering faith in the meaning of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, and to analyze phenomena, which is also offering to the Buddha. Attaining the first bhumi, understanding the nature of phenomena, directly realizing the two selflessnesses, and generating the correct view is also offering to the Buddha. The liberation of the Shravakas from the afflictive obscurations is also the Shravakas' offering to the Buddha. Bodhisattvas gradually accomplish the bhumis and paramitas, and ultimately, through offering to the Buddha, they abandon the two obscurations and attain unsurpassed enlightenment through suchness, which is also offering to the Buddha. Thus, there are nine other types of mental offerings. Furthermore, the eight divisions of the meaning of offering are: the reason is that the ultimate of all qualities is the Buddha, with great joyful faith directed towards the supreme field of offering; the result of offering is complete dedication to perfect the two accumulations and attain unsurpassed enlightenment; the support or basis is the Buddhas, the objects of offering; the objects of offering are various material and mental offerings. The cause is to make aspirations to make offerings when the Buddha appears and is encountered in the future; wisdom is non-attachment to the three circles of offering; for what purpose is it done, because the offering is made to mature limitless sentient beings, therefore the field is sentient beings; the offering of place is offering while abiding in material objects, and offering while abiding in the mind, both of which are called places. Then, what is the difference between objects and places? If it is thought that faith and so on that abide in the mind also indirectly indicate the person who has such a mentality, then there is a difference. Thus, these eight categories summarize the meaning of the previous four verses and elaborate on these eight ways.

No. Furthermore, the divisions of offerings are: the offering made in the past is the cause, and the offering made in the present is the result; the offering made in the present is the cause, and the offering made in the future is the result. Due to the accordance of cause and effect, the transformation of cause and effect in this way is established as the offering of the three times. And offering one's own body and limbs, listening to the Dharma and contemplating, etc., are offerings of oneself or inner offerings. Causing others to make offerings, and offering one's own possessions such as Dharma robes, etc., are offerings of others or outer offerings. Offering with acquired Dharma robes and alms-obtained bedding, etc., and prostrating and joining palms, welcoming and rising, and praising, etc., these two kinds of respectful offerings are small offerings or coarse offerings. And, offering through practicing by means of listening to the sacred Dharma, contemplating, and meditating, is called a great offering or a subtle offering, thus there are two kinds. In that practice, the practice of the Lesser Vehicle is a small offering or an inferior offering, and the practice of the Great Vehicle is a great offering or a magnificent offering, these two. This verse seems to be connected to the meaning of the previous verse, and there is no separate explanation. An offering not grasped by the wisdom of non-objectification of the three circles of offering is an offering with pride, and an offering grasped by non-conceptual wisdom is an offering without pride. These two are also called inferior offerings and supreme offerings. Combining and, there are also two kinds of offerings made by combining: an offering combined at another time later is a distant offering, and an offering combined at that very time or in remembrance is a near offering. Similarly, there are also two kinds of offerings made by going: offering after the cessation of going, that is, offering after the cessation of offering for two or many lifetimes, and offering immediately, that is, wherever one is born, offering immediately, thus there are two kinds, near and far. In the manner of aspiration, aspiring to offer in this life, and in the manner of aspiring to offer in all lifetimes, it is also considered that there are these two kinds, near and far. The characteristics of a supreme offering are: the object of focus is faith in the Dharma of the Great Vehicle, the thought is savoring the taste, and afterwards rejoicing, abiding among the nine virtuous deeds, and obtaining samadhis such as the Space Treasury.
