Recognizing it as the great medicine that pacifies the diseases of the earth, worldly wealth is scarce, small in scope, and exhaustible, ultimately leading to destruction. In contrast, the sacred Dharma, with its fully endowed powers such as manifest knowledge, grants inexhaustible and great dominion, thus it is regarded as wealth. The sacred Dharma is the antidote that permanently ends all suffering such as birth and aging, therefore it should be regarded as constant bliss, or as that which, once obtained, never diminishes, a state of peace, coolness, happiness, and abundance, like Nirvana itself. Secondly, by thoroughly seeking the Dharma, one abandons the ten things to be abandoned. What are they? They are the ten kinds of discursive thoughts that are contrary to the realization of Suchness, which are explained in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra as follows: Sons of the Victorious One who seek the Dharma should abandon the four kinds of discursive thoughts: existence, non-existence, exaggeration, and denigration. Similarly, they should abandon the discursive thoughts of oneness, multiplicity or difference, the self-nature of phenomena, the distinctions thereof, the discursive thoughts of meaning as it is in name, and the clinging to name as it is in meaning. These ten should be correctly abandoned through understanding the meaning of the Dharma. It is said that in the Hundred Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, it is said: Although a Bodhisattva exists, one does not truly see the Bodhisattva. The meaning of emptiness, if one clings to the non-existence of phenomena in name, is nihilistic emptiness, and should be eliminated, because dependent arising and the appearance of dependent arising exist, and the ultimate reality, the perfectly established nature, exists as the Dharma-nature, therefore, to truly recognize existence as existence is not an extreme. To eliminate the extreme of non-existence, it is said that although a Bodhisattva exists, this shows that the appearance of nominal dependent arising, this person, exists. Even so, if ordinary people cling to the existence of a self of a person as they imagine, it is the extreme of existence, therefore, to counteract it, it is said that one does not truly see the Bodhisattva, that is, although it appears as a person, there is no thing called self in it, the self is neither one with the aggregates nor

Because one does not observe faith. Thus, it shows the selflessness of persons, and from here onwards, it shows the selflessness of phenomena. As an antidote to eliminating extremes of superimposition and denigration, it says, "Form is empty of its own nature, and it is not even by emptiness." Because phenomena such as form appear, but do not establish as that and its own nature, it is said to be empty of its own nature, thereby showing that form is merely imputed, thus eliminating the superimposition of being truly existent. Saying "it is not even by emptiness" eliminates the denigration of emptiness being completely unestablished, and holding onto everything as non-existent without properly distinguishing the boundaries of existence and non-existence is the view of denigration. Considering these two ways, it says, "it is neither existent nor non-existent," negating both, without any commitment. This method of negating everything in an accidental way presupposes the aspect that is to be specifically negated. An antidote to conceptualizing as one. It says, "Whatever is the emptiness of form is not form. Whatever is form is not emptiness." The object of dharma, such as form, and the nature of dharma are emptiness. The two, imputation and perfection, are not one, because the former is unanalyzable, the object of deluded consciousness, and the latter is analyzable, the object of non-deluded consciousness. An antidote to conceptualizing as different. It says, "Form is empty, emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form. Form is not other than emptiness." It means that what appears as the object of dharma or the apprehended and the apprehender abides in emptiness, and there is nothing called emptiness apart from that, just like the heat of fire, because the nature of those dharmas is emptiness. As it is also said in the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra: "The realm of formations and the nature of ultimate reality are the nature of being free from one and different. Whoever conceptualizes as one and different, those have not entered properly," just as four faults each were spoken of for each of those who hold to one and different. Like a vase, conceiving it as its own nature, and like a vase is impermanent, conceiving it as its distinguishing characteristic, to counteract these two, it is said, "Whatever is form is merely a name," etc., name.
