Merely departing from the suffering of samsara, which is the aggregate of grasping, and approaching the quiescence of nirvana. This shows that one should abandon attachment to the fruits of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers and generate the supreme mind of enlightenment. Secondly, when the mind of true enlightenment arises, there is no fear of being weary of the suffering of the lower realms and samsara. This is explained as follows: The bodhisattva who possesses intelligence, that is, the wisdom that realizes selflessness, when he generates the supreme mind of unsurpassed enlightenment, the true mind of enlightenment, even immediately upon arising in the state of the first ground, he completely restrains his mind from engaging in actions that harm all limitless sentient beings and from committing limitless faults in the three doors of non-virtue. How does he obtain the discipline of not committing evil deeds? Therefore, there is no fear of going to the three lower realms. The bodhisattva who has generated the mind of enlightenment constantly increases the stream of virtue and compassion for sentient beings, so he always abides in virtue. Because he is filled with love for sentient beings, he rejoices even when experiencing happiness, and he also rejoices when experiencing suffering. Therefore, there is no fear of weariness at any time. Due to the power of virtue, he rejoices even when experiencing many pleasures of gods and humans. Because compassion increases, even when experiencing many sufferings such as the heat and cold of the three lower realms for the sake of other suffering sentient beings, he still gladly accepts them. Therefore, he will always be happy, and he will not become weary of samsara. Therefore, one should not turn away from generating the mind of enlightenment, but should gladly accept it. This is the instruction. Thirdly, if one remains in this samsara, sentient beings will engage in many wrongdoings, which are difficult to bear. So how can a bodhisattva not become weary, and how can he not fall away from his own virtue? When a bodhisattva attains the first ground, with great compassion, he cherishes others more than himself. For the sake of other sentient beings, he does not care for his own body and life, and he gives up his body and life. For the sake of other sentient beings, in many eons, he gives up his head and limbs, etc., and he accepts or promises to accept intense suffering that is extremely exhausting.

If other beings harm the bodhisattva's son, such as taking his life. The bodhisattva should not engage in evil actions of retaliation in any way, never. Therefore, one should be fond of generating bodhicitta. Fourth, no matter how bodhisattvas experience prosperity or decline in this samsara, they will not turn back from the practice of bodhi. The bodhisattva realizes that all internal and external phenomena are like illusions and dreams, and by the power of the accumulation of wisdom and the accumulation of merit, for the benefit of sentient beings, he takes birth in the realms of gods and humans as he wishes. Abandoning the previous body and taking another birth is understood as going to a beautiful garden. In times of prosperity, even when becoming the master of gods and humans, there is no fear of being bound by afflictions such as desire, as will be explained below. Because, as mentioned above, all dharmas are like illusions. Similarly, even in times of decline, when abandoning the body and enjoyment of gods, etc., and facing death, the bodhisattva does not have the fear of suffering from abandoning the body and enjoyment. Because he knows everything as an illusion and knows that taking birth is like going to a garden. Therefore, bodhisattvas, no matter how they experience happiness or suffering, do not fall away from the path, so one should train in the path of bodhi, this is the instruction. Fifth, to explain in detail the meaning of understanding rebirth as going to a garden, as just mentioned. For example, gods and humans go to a pleasant garden for four purposes: to bathe the body and beautify it with ornaments, to enjoy various banquet foods and drinks, to dwell in a pleasant place, and to experience the four joys of experiencing various games, so they turn their minds to the garden and never turn back. Similarly, bodhisattvas enter the cycle of rebirth continuously from one life to another, also in order to continuously adorn their own continuum with their own qualities—generosity, discipline, dharani, samadhi, wisdom, and other ornaments, and for the benefit of the sentient beings in the place where they are born.
