Please listen carefully. Furthermore, GyaltsabMipham Gonpo said, "The Noble One has completely abandoned the suffering of old age, death, and decay." As such, although there is no death due to karma for the sublime ones, in order to subdue those trainees who have constant clinging with the impermanent Dharma, they show the manner of destroying the body like an immortal vajra and going to other pure lands, which is also a skillful means of action. Therefore, although it does not depend on clarifying the key points of other powers at that time, if we combine it with worldly customs and make a brief clarification of the encouragement of aspirations based on the Dharma of Bardo, we will make this explanation. As such, whatever the two may be, there are two aspects to it: a brief explanation of the general characteristics of Bardo, and a detailed explanation of the individual nature of the current meaning. Among them, first of all, for the general characteristics, there are also the essence of Bardo, the meaning of the word Bardo, the classification of Bardo, and the ways to take each classification as a path. First, what is the essence of Bardo? There is no Bardo in the original purity of the ground (ka dag), because it does not depend on other previous and subsequent dharmas, and it is impossible to exist between any two, because it transcends the limits of changing appearance and emptiness. As such, in the Madhyamaka-karika, it is also said: "In the initial original purity (ka dag), it cannot be said to be even the basis of delusion. Likewise, what is non-delusion?" As such, everything that appears other than the inner original purity (ka dag) is the state of Bardo. That is, the self-radiance of the ground appearing as body and wisdom, the self-appearance part of the manifestation of the activities of the two form bodies, is the pure Dharmata Bardo. And all the dharmas included in the six realms of samsara, which are deluded appearances, are the impure deluded Bardo. Because it appears outward from the inner original purity (ka dag), and must again dissolve into the realm of original purity (ka dag), therefore, the alaya consciousness with habits, which has the nature of original purity (ka dag), is the essence of Bardo. Secondly, in terms of the meaning of the word, it is established from the part between any of the upper and lower, previous and subsequent. If we consider the Bardo of self-nature and the Bardo of dying, it is the intermediate part where the former has been abandoned and the latter has not yet been achieved. If we consider the Dharmata Bardo and the Existence Bardo, as it is said in the Abhidharmakosa: "This between death and birth, there is an intermediate existence, because it has not reached the place to go, therefore it is an intermediate existence." As such, having passed away from here, not yet to the future existence

The state between non-achievement is known as the "becoming" bardo. Third, the divisions of the bardo are said to be four: the natural bardo, the death bardo, the dharmata bardo, and the existence bardo. As it is said in the Transformation Sutra: "The dharmata of the bardo is like this, it is an extremely secret dharmata, it speaks of four divisions." The appearances and boundaries of these four are: The appearance of the natural abiding bardo is that the five skandhas, the twelve ayatanas, and the eighteen dhatus are bound by afflictions, the appearances of the five bodies, light and color, wisdom and dharmata cease naturally, and due to the attachment of the mind clinging to the object of appearance, in the illusion of samsara, clinging to permanence, truth, happiness, and characteristics, constantly engaging in karma and habits in the realm of the four inversions. Its boundary is from leaving the mother's womb until being struck by death. The appearance of the death bardo is that the elements of the body are disturbed, the sensations of the mind disappear, suffering is experienced in body and mind, clinging to the appearances of this life, fearing falling into the lower realms, etc., abiding in the suffering of the separation of body and mind. Its boundary is from approaching death until the cessation of inner breath. The appearance of the dharmata bardo is that it engages in the dharmata of body and wisdom, the dharmata of natural meditation, and the three dharmatas of self-appearing clear light. Its boundary is from the cessation of inner breath to the arising of clear light, until the self-arisen appearance does not disappear. The appearance of the existence bardo is that it relies on the mental body and the food of smell, wandering without a place to stay. Its boundary is from the disappearance of the self-arisen appearance until entering the place of rebirth in the next life. Fourth, the methods of taking the path of each division are shown in two ways: example and meaning. For the natural bardo, the instruction is like the decision of what is to be known, like a chick entering a nest. The meaning is to rely on the supreme guru, and for the instructions he teaches, first train the mind by hearing, in the middle decide by thinking, and finally settle the meaning as it is by meditating, thereby cutting off doubts. For the death bardo, the instruction is like clarifying the unclear appearance of clear light, like a beautiful woman looking in a mirror, the previously accustomed instructions are clear at this time.
