All completed by halving. Four spokes connect the four vertices. Eight spokes also connect the corner vertices on top of that. Ten spokes from one diameter to another. Measuring three half-segments, discarding two half-segments, using only one part, from the south and north diameter lines to the east and west two diameter lines, measuring two each, forming eight bumps. Halving, setting eight marks. Then dividing the diameter line in the east-west direction, clearly setting ten marks. Placing between every two marks, stretching the thread and fixing it sequentially. Thus, a wheel with ten spokes arises. These are also mentioned in passing, slightly explaining the ritual of the lines. Secondly, there are also four aspects to the work of colors: materials, quantity, blessings, and methods of application. The first also has three levels: superior, intermediate, and inferior. If the wealthy, superior patron is under the power of a Chakravartin king, then blue is made from indranila Indra's blue), white from silver or crystal, yellow from pushparaga or gold, red from padmaraga or coral, and green from emerald or turquoise. As stated in Heruka Galpo: "The materials of a Chakravartin king, pushparaga and gold, padmaraga and emerald, indranila are used for pigments." Also, as stated in the Vajra Sequence: "Indranila like moonlight, pushparaga, coral, copper, emerald made from tala are pleasing." If the wealthy, intermediate are lesser kings, then use any of the five grains and five medicines in their own color, or change the color with pigments. As stated in Galpo: "The ruler of men uses agricultural fruits, making red with buckwheat, rice, and red beans, green with peas, etc." Also, as stated in the Vajra Mirror: "Rice and salu, etc., changing the color is also the same. And medicines." If the wealthy, inferior are common people, then use earth pigments from auspicious places in their own color or change the color. As stated in the previous passage: "The wealthy, inferior, draw with five sources." Also, as stated in Galpo: "Stone ash, branch ash, red soil, red barley, made from red beans, and burnt grains are said to be dust pigments." These are external colors. Internal wrathful colors, as stated in Galpo: "Great ash from the charnel ground, branch ash, and bricks from there, the charnel ground, and drawing with charcoal are wrathful ones."

Yang! For constructing the wrathful mandala, it is customary to mix a little bit of coarse ash into the five colors. The secret colors are: for both peaceful and wrathful deities, the five great fruits are used. It is said that the blood of subjugation or the blood of a lotus with maternal characteristics should be used for writing. As stated in the Galpo: "That which is called a single pattern, all of those are a single pattern. The blood of desire is bodhicitta, it is said to be the paint for all mandalas." Now, I will briefly write about the practice of transforming pigments that are commonly needed: The basic white color for everything is: radish, bellflower, and thang-ka. Pound them with a pestle, soak them in cold water, and it is best to filter them with a silk sieve. Apply red lacquer and bake it in the sunlight. When it is not completely dry, mix it with earth until the original color appears. Knead it well to produce a good red color. While it is still moist, mix the stone lime with the soaked indigo and grind it well to suppress the blue luster. Mix the soaked indigo with earth and knead it, and it will turn into an iron-like color. In the autumn season, without touching it with a hoe, cut the meadow grass at the waist. Pound the tips finely. Then mix it with earth and pound it again. Knead and bake it in the sunlight. If you transform it two or three times, the blue color will become better and better. On that, add the soaked stone lime, grind it finely, sprinkle a little bit, pound and knead it, and bake it in the sunlight, and a green color will appear. Pound young green wheatgrass, halo leaves, young beans, etc. Mix them with earth, bake them, knead them, and dry them in the sun. This will also produce a good green color. Grind rapeseed finely, mix it with lime, mix it with white earth, and dry it in the shade. It will take on the color of vermilion gold. Or even if you don't mix it with lime, if you do it as before, it will produce a yellow color. Mix it with stone lime or alkali soil, and it will produce a good saffron color. Mix meadow (or hemp) flour with oil and burn it in the fire, and the color will be like eye medicine. This is just a brief explanation. For details, it is best to refer to the practice of experts. Second, regarding the measurement: The measurement of the base color is half of the width of a line, which is one-fifth of the width of a line. Although it is said so, it should be applied evenly, neither too thick nor too thin, without streaks. Third, the blessing: Pour the colors into a clean container and write the seed syllables of the five families on it, without confusing the directions.
